Very happy with this! I've been looking for something like this for a long time, in fact I just ordered a second one for my other dog, I didn't do it before because I was afraid of the quality, but there's nothing to worry about. I Love that my dogs don't have any issues with pulling on them I honestly don't even think they notice they're hook to them. It doesn't pull on their collar, very smooth recoil back and forth and is also very Long, I haven't measured exactly the length though. We needed something easier on our boy's neck, as he doesn't do well with harnesses or with being tied up when we are at the campground. This fits our needs perfectly! It is smooth, not heavy on his neck, and gives us peace of mind that he is not going to come untied from the old rope we had him hooked up to before. Love this thing! I have to keep an extra one on hand at all times. Very active Brittany always wants to be outside and we can’t get the yard fenced in nor invisible fenced. We attach a 15-ft tie out cable to this and it works for us. Put it in the yard and pup has 180 degrees and 35 feet to roam. Use the provided nut cover to pound the stake in or you risk screwing up the retraction. We have it in the grass uncovered for 24/7, so over time and daily use the plastic cover over the thin cable can wear, exposing the cable to water and weather, so the cable can rust and break. ... show more

It took 2x attempts to get the complete contents. The first tie out was missing some of the packaging and the drive tip, so had to reach out about ended up ordering a new one and returning 1st unit. We have used it a couple times camping now with our 75lb lab puppy on the line. It really helps keeping in less tangled. The tension on the line doesn't seem to bother him when he is laying down. I am probably going to make a bracket to be able to mount to camper when not able to drive in dirt. ... show more

I got this for my cat as she likes to run around the yard, but I like to keep her close and out of the poison ivy. It's real nice and very sturdy. I love how it moves and retracts with her- she doesn't have to pull on it very hard to go places and it doesn't get tangled up in her feet or around its own post. We’ve put this to a lot of use at a lot of campgrounds, and it never fails. Plus I love that there is some ground clearance involved so the wire doesn’t get snagged on other things or other dogs in the yard. For campsites, though, you might want the shorter length.

So far we are happy with this, we’ve taken it on one camping trip and it was great for our dog to have a good range to run around without there being a leash dragging through wet grass and getting tangled constantly. I wish more of these types of tie outs were available, I would love to have a second one on hand with a stake that holds on in the ground a little better if we are somewhere with softer ground.
