I got this for my daughter who was 11 months at the time, at first she wasn't super interested but once we set it up in her room without other toys around to distract, it got her attention. Now when we realize she's quite and think she's gotten into something she's not supposed, we're always pleasantly surprised that find her happy as a clam playing in, on and thru it. We keep it in the square shape bc of her small room but she seems to prefer it that way. She loves bringing books into the center, putting anything and everything in the mailbox, opening and closing the door and often attempting to climb thru the window. I would make sure your l.o. either has no socks on or ones with grippy bottoms if they're anything like mine they'll eventually want to stand on the flat-ish spot on the 'slide' and she's taken an innocent tumble or two from slipping. She still hasn't figured out or just isn't interested in the telescope but she's happy with everything else. The little ball drop is nice, it's also helpful to get them interested in it; you can sit on the opposite side of them and drop balls in and have fun when it pops out on either side. The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars on everything is because over the span of the three months we've had it, she's weakened the door arch either standing or using as support to pull herself up and has made everything a little lose and you can't really readjust or tighten it. But otherwise it's a lovely toy/playset and refreshing to have them doing imaginative play without all the tacky electronics! I'm sure it'd also be great in a playroom with multiple kids. Give it a shot!

I bought this toy last year for my daughter for Christmas. She was 1 month old. Yeah, everyone looked at me like I was crazy. Right around 6 months is when she started using it everyday. I put a Boppy pillow in the middle so that she could sit and play with all the toys. She LOVED it. As she got older she was able to pull herself up and stand using it. Now she crawls through the window, the slide and the door, she also uses it as a walker. It's pretty funny, she stands inside it and pushes on the top bar. Then she walks behind it. She still uses this toy everyday. We did not put on the stickers or put in any batteries, and we've never had it out of the square configuration. My niece likes it too. She's about 2 years older and likes to play in "the castle too". It's held up really well, even when being used as a walker. It might be a little small for the higher range kids (2.5 years) but my niece is big for her age and she did just fine. What I do like about this toy is that it has something to offer for different developmental age levels. I also like the fort like quality of the toy. It's my daughter's space. She crawls in there with her other toys and will just hangs out. It is a little large, it sits in the middle of the living room for a lot of the day since she plays with it so often, but as long as you have a space to stash it is no big deal. It will break down into panels, but you wouldn't want to do that all of the time. I highly recommend this toy, but I also know that not every child will use it the same and it is a lot of money to spend. We have definitely gotten our money out of it!

My daughter is currently 9 months 27in long who can crawl & pull up to stand that’s about it. Sole purpose was to purchase a playground that she can crawl around in and bonus if it had a small slide because she doesn’t know how to climb up steps to be able to purchase a “larger” indoor/outdoor playground. So this item was the closest playground for her age group that does what she can do at the moment. My honest opinion, it’s an adorable set however my daughter of 9 months looks to be too big for this playground lol wasn’t expecting her to be too big. So if you’re looking for something maybe for a 6 month old who can crawl I believe this is perfect because they’re small enough perhaps there’s wiggle room for them. Whereas for my 9 month old she barely can crawl through the door 😅. Again adorable playground simple features good for babies definitely

First of all, don't listen to the reviews of those who say their kids didn't like it or care about it. The products functionality is not based on the child's interest. Secondly, a child under the age of 2 is incapable of full comprehension of objet proportion. The fact that it's not a full slide, a larger than baby door, or that it's not as big as the adult wanted for the price, has zero to do with how good or bad this toy is. This toy is really great for the price. There were used ones on resell apps but I wanted this to be new for the simple fact that I could send it back if something WAS wrong with it! There was a matter of it being sturdy when it was opened. One of the screws wasn't keeping it as firm on one side as the other. I had a fatter screw and just used that which actually fixed the only problem I had with it. My 10 month old usually takes a couple of days before warming up to a new toy so idk if he likes it or not. He seemed pretty content in it and is able to go through the door and the slide area without any trouble. I will say that when you assemble it put the stickers on the slide poles FIRST and keep in mind you've got ONE shot at the stickers. Once they're on they're on! Overall it really is a great toy with lots to do! As with ALL toys larger than your child, do not leave them unattended with this. No need to blame the toy or the company because you just walked away from your child to get hurt on it.

**Update: my daughter is now 13 months old and loves crawling into her little garden house every day. She now loves playing with the mailbox shape sorter and the little balls that come with it. This has held up very well thus far (and my child has been a rough climber for 3 months already) and it definitely worth the money in my opinion. She has not managed to pinch any fingers yet, but she does occasionally stick her feet in the ball hole in the window sill and get a little stuck, so as with all toys, don't leave your baby completely unsupervised with it. Overall, though, completely worth it and no regrets about this play set. ** This is a great little activity center for a toddler and it has such fun features. My main reason for docking one star is that is listed as a toy for ages 6 months to 3 years and while a baby can play with it at 6 months, until they have more consistent coordination they are going to continually hit their heads on things in the confined space even with close supervision. It won't cause any real injury, but it will make them cry or get frustrated. Also, a three year old would definitely still enjoy playing with parts of this activity center, but I would not invest the money in buying it for a child who is 2 years old or up because their are plenty of other options that would better suit a preschool aged child. That being said it is perfect to purchase for babies from confident crawling age through early toddler days because they should get a year or two of use out of it. My daughter is 6.5 months old and a confident sitter, but not a really crawling yet and she is still working on controlling the force of her head/body movements, so she is not quite ready to get full use out of it, but I am confident that she will love it when she is a little more of an independent mover. She already loves the little activity panel and the balls in the windowsill. Pros: -good quality for the price -seems sturdy -lightweight, so if a child manages to topple it over, they won't be injured -ideal for children 8/9ish months through 2 years old -small, so it doesn't take up too much floor space -fun little stations:mini xylophone buttons on the door, activity panel that tweets, shape sorting mailbox, balls in the windowsill, telescope etc. -the windowsill ball holes are too small for the mailbox sorting shapes, so child cannot force in shapes blocks that will get stuck -easy to assemble in about an hour if you follow directions (I recommend sorting the pieces into three piles according to which part of the center they go to) -the stickers were easy to attach (aside from the white posts which need to be screwed in first, I attached all of the stickers before putting the set together) Cons: -even with close supervision (ie. Sitting right next to your child) a baby who is not yet a confident independent mover will probably bump their head a lot and get upset -not a great investment for a child who is already over 2 compared to other products on the market -as other reviews have noted, the mailbox door could be a pinching hazard (but it is easily removed without affecting the ability to sort shapes, if you are concerned) Note: -the white posts on the door portion of the playset can be hard to put together if you don't realize that it matters which piece goes on the front and which goes on the back while attaching them to the green base (Picture included to show the difference in the sides of the hole in the green base and in the pieces of the post). If you match them properly they are very easy to attach, otherwise it will look like it is just stuck and not closing quite properly and will be very frustrating.

My first was never a climber. She was, and still is, and incredibly cautious child. This made parenthood easy for us. However, it left us ill-prepared for when our second came out as the reincarnation of Evel Knievel. She is 7 months old and will climb anything and everything. The bookcase? Looks doable. The vacuum? Perfect climbing toy. I have a Pikler triangle for her but it does not keep her attention. I found this and went back and forth on ordering it quite a bit. I finally did after she climbed her sister's toy ice cream cart, which resulted in a lot of screaming for her to stop and how it wasn't safe (from my 2 year old). Let me tell you, this thing is sturdy. We have had it for a few days and my daughter has climbed all over it and pulled up on it everywhere and it has not budged. The little blue slide part? The first thing she did was pull herself up on the yellow arch and walk up the slide. It didn't move out from under her and she was able to pull back pretty hard and it still stayed up. I will say the shutters are a little tight and hard to push open for my 7 month old. It is definitely a toy that will grow with her. My 2 year old likes it as well. It's great because they can play with it together, but it doesn't keep my 2 year old's attention. This is definitely a toy for the 6-12 month range. T

This is probably one of the best things I have bought for my babies. I bought this originally 4 years ago when my first baby turned 1 year old. He LOVED it and played with it every day for at least 2 years. We played countless games of peakaboo through the telescope and the window. He loves that he could close the door and have his own little space. He actually seemed to really enjoy that this little house was more his size and did not feel cramped at all. (As a parent, I am happy it's not too much bigger because it can easily fit in any room in the house and can be moved around as wanted.) When people came over, we reconfigured the pieces so that it was open in a zig-zag style that way multiple kids could play at one time. The little bird button is adorable and does not get annoying. The colors are pastel and not overly abrasive as other baby toys can be. Fast forward 4 years and baby number 2 is now using it. I was happy to have it at age 8 months so we could get maximum fun out of it. He was a bit afraid of it in the house formation at first because he felt trapped, but was completely happy to explore it when it was reconfigured in the open way. Now, at 10 months he is starting to crawl through the crawl space and play with all the cool pieces of it more independently. I would 100% recommend this to any parent. There is no down side. This house has withstood the test of two children and a two year garage storage beautifully. Thank you, Little Tikes, for this amazing toy!

I ordered this when my son was about 7 months when it was clear we needed some new toys to keep his attention. He initially didn't pay much attention to it (I was a bit disappointed) but I thought it was so clever and hoped he would come around. Well, boy did he ever come around! It took about a month for him to open up to the activity garden and now it is his FAVORITE spot in the playroom (he's 10 months old now). SO many features: 3 Musical buttons Opening and closing the garden door Opening and closing the mail box Putting the shapes in and out the mail box Play station with many buttons to press and thingies to flip, rotate Opening and closing the windows Putting balls in the window box and watching them come out Slide for entering/leaving on belly The "slide" isn't a slide that baby can go down feet first. It's more of a fun way to enter/leave the garden house. My guy wiggles in and out on his belly. He even enters/leaves the garden through the back windows! It cracks us up watching him wiggle in and out. There are so many features. My least favorite is the "binoculars." It won't stay up parallel to the floor and always falls over, and he has no real interest in it. Maybe if he was older he would understand to look through it but at the baby stage he's too young to grasp that concept. All in all this activity center is truly that - a center full of playful activities. I waited a few months before leaving my review to give him plenty of time and I'm so glad we purchased this - he's an easily distracted baby and having this in the playroom helps us sit back and relax a lot while he plays!
