My 2-year-old son is obsessed with birds. He loves them. My older daughters (5 and 7) have a version of this toy that they have had and loved for a few years. I thought it was such an odd item for them to pick out at the store. But, they have loved it and consistently play with it, even now. My son found it and decided it was his. So, I HAD to buy him his own little birdy. This one is perfect. It is a good size for him (and his sisters), it is easy to manipulate and play with, it has stood up to my kids and their antics. The cage is slightly less sturdy than the one I bought a few years ago, but it hasn't presented any issues so far (2 months of use so far). If we didn't have the old one, I wouldn't be bothered by the construction or materials of the cage. The bird talks when you press the button and will repeat things back to you in a cute little bird voice. It says, "I love you" a lot and is just super sweet. I don't like a lot of animated toys with lights and sounds. But, I don't mind this one, because it is so simple and still encourages imaginative play. The media could not be loaded. It’s good quality but I wanna tell you that it’s not plastic it’s actually velvet so I don’t trust a picture. I don’t recommend throwing it or doing all that stuff to it because the velvet it could scratch off so I recommend for cleaning it to just use like a wet paper towels just rub it on the places that are dirty because it collect stuff on it and also sometimes the beach doesn’t move when you record it or when it’s tween that’s pretty normal and sometimes don’t get scared if it repeats it even though it doesn’t says it on the manual and it when you leave it alone for even about 10 seconds, then it starts tweeting so you might want to turn it off when you put it back in the cage and leave it alone so and also, it’s really good for a gift and it’s good for it's good for babies because my sister really liked it and she is young ... show more
