This cable is like the reliable friend you didn’t know your MacBook needed. At $24, it’s reasonably priced for the quality and functionality it brings. The magnetic connection snaps into place with a satisfying click, making it ridiculously easy to charge without worrying about yanking your laptop off the desk. It’s especially great for those of us who can’t seem to keep cables from fraying—thanks to the sturdy nylon braiding, this one looks like it’ll survive the apocalypse. The 3.3 feet length is just right for most setups, though if you’ve got a weirdly far-away outlet situation, you might wish for a longer option. And while it’s great for MacBook Airs and Pros (especially the newer M2 and M3 models), it doesn’t have that shiny Apple logo or premium white finish. But hey, it gets the job done like a champ, and your wallet will thank you. Verdict: 4/5 stars. A great buy for MacBook users who want reliable charging without breaking the bank.

The media could not be loaded. First thing I noticed, this cable is much stiffer than the original, which definitely feels lower quality. The stiffness might mean it's going to last longer but I prefer the softness of the Apple cable. Also, the magnetic connector is quite a bit larger (original is on the left), which makes it easier to get knocked off when your computer is sitting on your lap. Then I tried plugging it in... You can see in the video what's happening. It's constantly starting and stopping charging, only coming on for about a second at a time. I tried on another Macbook and it did the same on that one. It's not a loose connection -- the magnet is actually pretty strong. And I tried it in both directions with the same start / stop results. Even if the cable was working, I would have a hard time recommending it since the quality does not match the original cable from Apple. I was looking forward to having a shorter cable for charging, but this one unfortunately didn't work out. **EDIT**: since writing this review, I have ordered quite a few generic MacBook chargers that include a Magnetic-3 cable and also I have purchased separate Magnetic-3 cables, and NONE of those cables will work with my power bank. You might assume then it's an issue with my power bank, except that the original Apple Magnetic-3 cables will work fine with the same power bank. I tested again, and this cable does work as it should with a WALL CHARGER. It's only starting and stopping with the battery power bank, which is the reason I ordered it. Also, I was contacted by the company asking how they could resolve this issue. Since I believe the issue is with the cable design and not a defect, I don't think there's anything that can be done to make this cable work. They also offered a gift card or to send a different product but since I received this cable through the Vine program, that isn't necessary and I want to be fair and honest about all the products I review.

I need an extra mag cable for traveling and I use Lisen magnetic charging mounts in my car, so thought I'd give them a shot for my new MBA M3. They didn't disappoint as this works EXACTLY like the OEM cable without any issues whatsoever. It's a bit thicker and a tad longer at the mag connection, but that's okay by me as a thicker braided cable should last longer in my book. It's actually a sturdier, stiffer cable which I'm totally comfortable with. Overall, I think this is a great economical choice for a MagSafe power cable for your MacBook Air if you need a backup cable and don't want to shell out a lot of money for an OEM cable.

This is nearly impossible to use: you have to play with it and move it around and around to get it to function. It also charges my computer way more slowly than the apple charger does. But it will work in a pinch if you have to use it. I do like the thickness and quality of the cable part.

I love this cable. It's nice having a slightly longer cable for my laptop than the one that comes in the box, and the magnets work well. The coloring is very close to the laptop, and the indicator light is helpful. As the manufacturer mentioned, any slight delay of 5-10 seconds is a safety issue when you are using a third-party charger. The cable is ensuring that you are inputting the correct voltage/current into your laptop so you do not damage the machine. It should not be a big deal for most people to wait a few seconds for the charging to begin. I would love to see a 6-foot version of this cable for those business trips where you find the outlet is far away, and you need a longer cable to charge your laptop from the bed.

This MagSafe 3 charging cable works, but the magnetic end is really thick compared to the OEM cable. It's basically as thick as the bottom half of my new MacBook Air. It works for me, but I could see the added bulk being a problem with some cases. Just something to be aware of before you order.

We have an outlet at our kitchen island that has a USB C port. That is where my MacBook lives. I didnt' care for the long cable that came with it. This is the only 3.3' cable I could find on Amazon. Works just as good as the Apple one.
