The fit is good for a smaller head, and the pink color shown is accurate. The elastic is VERY narrow with a lot of "give". The elastic is stitched on the inside from one ear, around the back of the neck, over to the other ear. The long side ribbons ARE NOT part of the expanding elastic. The ribbons are stitched on the outside of the wrap and start at about the ear on each side. Both side ribbons must brought around to the back and tied OVER THE TOP of the elastic bottom. The flat front, as compared to the front "knot" type, is very effective at keeping stray hairs tucked. I have shoulder-length, thin hair that more than fits into the bonnet shape, so if you have longer or thicker hair, this will accommodate. I use this silk wrap for yoga practice, and it did slip a bit which meant retying the ribbons to get a tighter fit. I'm not sure that this design will stay put while sleeping. 4 stars for Comfort, 3 stars for Stretch (flimsy elastic that isn't going to last), 3 stars for Value (as I have not seen any special discounts or coupons and it's pricey compared to other offers). ... show more

I am getting older. I have thin, straight hair. I am trying to preserve what I have. This bonnet is not gigantic on my little head. The silk is soft. My only complaint is that when I sleep on my back the tie bothers me and I have to retie it off to the side so it doesn’t poke me in the back of the neck. ... show more

    • Adorable But Not For All Hair

This is adorable, and real silk. Very comfortable. I like the flat band in front so it doesn't give me an elastic line across my forehead in the morning. It's not really great for my hair at night, my hair is pretty short, just below the chin, and the curls pretty much just matt up overnight wearing this, (probably in part because of the product in my hair). I think it would be great for putting over pin curls, and also for longer straighter hair that is wrapped up, there is lots of room for hair to be gathered underneath it. I'll probably be wearing it either over hair wraps when I do them, and in the bath and taking off makeup and such, possibly by the pool. But I won't be sleeping in it overnight it doesn't work for that with my hair length and curls. ... show more

To everyone writing a review that isn't a perfect 5 out of 5 for this product: you do you; you have every right to not like a product and question it, you're not wrong in wondering why only one side of this cap is smooth. For those of you who made that observation, you are correct, your eyes and your fingers do not deceive you. One side of the fabric is not the same as the other. Since the wonders of the textile industry were brought up already, I'd like to talk about something that was mysteriously left out of the first conversation. There's this thing in the industry called the "right" and "wrong" side of fabric. The right side of the fabric is the side we see on the outside of our clothing. It may be printed with beautiful florals or have a lovely brushed suede texture. In this case, the right side of this silk fabric is on the outside of this cap. It is smooth, shiny, and luxurious. The wrong side of the fabric is usually rougher and dull. It is turned to the inside of garments and will usually show seams and stitches, unless the garment is lined with more fabric, (which is typically sewn with the right side showing, so the inside of a garment will look as nice as the outside). Even though this cap is %100 silk, it is unlined with no silk on the right side sewn into the part that our hair touches. I do wonder the benefits of using the wrong side here at all. Silk pillowcases from this company use the right side of their silk, so why shouldn't this cap have that as well? There are plenty of silk caps on amazon at this price point that are lined with silk on the right side. Your hair is benefiting most from the smooth/frictionless texture the right side provides. So although it's not wrong to say this cap is 100% silk, these assertions feel disingenuous when the nicer part of the fabric isn't on the side protecting your hair. This cap is ok, but there are better ones out there with reviewers that won't take cheap shots at your intelligence concerning the frivolous pursuits of the neo-bourgeoise. ... show more

So i am not one to write a negative review but… here we go. So this bonnet is fairly cute, which was important to me since i was pretty self conscious about wearing one. For fit, its a little tricky at first but once you do it the first time, you can leave it. However i will mention, if your sensitive to sensory stuff on your head, the elastic over your ears is bothersome. (And i don't like it behind my ears). Now the important part. It doesn't stay on. First night it came off. Second night i tightened and it did decently but some of my front hairs came out (and i have long hair). Third night i tried tightening it again but it came completely off again. So unfortunately, to my great disappointment its a bust for me. A bummer indeed. Edit: i found out it stays if you tie is to your head as tight as you can. So it works now ... show more
