These are up to 180 lb. model. I would use these with my hiking boots so I strapped them in to check the fit and see just how easy you could get them on and off. All three straps are quick adjusters with the front two having a ratcheting lever to fine adjust. The heel strap adjusts easily by popping open the gray tab and pulling the strap snug, then pressing the tab back down in the strap's hole. One minor issue is the excess rear strap has a clip to hold it on one side of your heel, but the second clip is too far around to lock it in and keep it from flopping around. I might just add some Velcro to it to hold the tail from wagging. There is generous traction claws on the bottom. The heel teeth are fixed in place, but the front teeth pivot with your foot. Should work well on ice and hard-pack when climbing uphill. Almost everything metal is aluminum except for the front two rivets that work as the crucial pivot points (a good thing for longevity). There's one feature I'm not sure of it's purpose, my other old sets of snow shoes don't have. There's a metal bar that flips up and locks into place. Perhaps you flip it up to give you better traction on an icy climb ... I'm just guessing here, but very curious to find out. Adjustable length poles are included that come with hiking tips and snow baskets. What a nice setup. I can't wait for the snow ... I really love winter!
