As somewhat a collector of backpacks, I really love this one. Compared to my Redwing 32 or Matador 28 (which have served me very well), the Clantrilobite (did i spell that right?) is much lighter and holds more gear. Ideal for an overnite with spare Teva's, shirt, shorts, book, socks and skivvy's - with plenty of xtra room to stick in a puffy jacket. Thoughtful design folds into its own pocket. Super value, well made, great zippers (so far) - It's one for the win column! Edit: The large flap(s) that cover the zipper(s) do have a tendency to get caught in the zipper(s), and a very bumpy flight was able to jar main zipper open [and scatter some contents around overhead bin]. That said, a zip tie or tsa lock would solve the opening problem. Need to be careful with the flaps. Still love the backpack. Nice amount of storage, and lots of pockets to lose things in :)

I was looking for a backpack that was light and compact that I can use for travel. I have not had the chance to use this yet but am impressed with the quality of the product. I am planning to use as a second backpack on a trip. I like that it folds up and is very portable. I love that it has a trolley strap just in case. I also like the number of pockets and ability to organize! Organization is sometimes key when traveling. I can update this review after using but so far I am pleased with it.

I love this backpack. I bought it to use as a light-weight backpack that I can throw in my suitcase to use on trips. It far exceeded my expectations. It is light weight. It has two small front pockets, two large interior pockets The largest compartment has a sleeve in which you could easily slip a small laptop computer. There is also a small zippered compartment within this cavity. On the back there is an additional compartment where you can put valuables so that they remain safely tucked against your back. There are two side pockets for water bottles. Each of them has a small loop of reflective tape. The straps are comfortable and adjustable. The largest two pockets have two-way zippers. It folds into a small zippered pocket; perfect for throwing into a travel bag or the glove compartment of your car. Here are the only small negative criticisms: On the largest pocket there is a large flap that covers the zipper. It you are not careful it is easy to get this caught in the zipper. It is easily avoidable after you figure that out. I also wish the front small pocket had a two-way zipper but since this doubles as the pocket that can hold the entire backpack, I understand why it wasn't designed that way. Really for the money, this is a GREAT purchase. When I get home from my trip and have access to my video equipment, I will consider making a video.

Initial Review- This bag has an amazing amount of pocketing for a packable backpack. There are two quick-access pockets on the front, one security back pocket, two water bottle pockets, and a luggage pass-through. There are two main compartments, with the smaller front one having no pocketing; it seems well-sized for a jacket or sweatshirt. The larger main compartment has a laptop/tablet sleeve and one zippable pocket. There is no additional padding or suspension in the laptop sleeve, so carry your electronics with caution and a padded sleeve. The material quality appears adequate for an ultralight packable bag, and it seems to utilize a lightweight ripstop. The zippers are rougher than I'd like, and the zipper teeth appear to be made of plastic; I see no apparent branding on them. In my use, the fabric welt on the main compartment is thin enough to get caught in the zipper. Overall, I love the feature offerings, particularly in terms of size, weight, and pocketing. I have some doubts about the longevity -- especially the zippers and their tendency to catch on the main compartment. For this reason, I am returning it. Too bad, as it has superior pocketing to other packable bags I've tried.

This is a great back pack. It is aesthetic, lightweight and has lots of pockets. There is even one in the back! It is exactly what I was looking for, a backpack that you can use to go anywhere, that you can easily find everything in, as it has enough compartments and zippered areas to divide up your belongings, and that does not add weight. I normally don't write reviews, but this backpack definitely deserves it! Five stars for sure!

Nearly perfect. weighs less than 0.7lbs. The zipper pulls lock together making it a little harder for someone to unzip and reach in on the metro and such. Folds really small. two main compartments and to other outside access areas (one used to fold the pack into itself when not used. I was going to use this as my primary pack but decided not too because it only has 1 inside zippered pocket--and I really prefer to have a couple, w 3 being ideal, inside zippered pockets. I'd pay more but at this price you can't beat it. Due to the pockets I ended up using a much heavier (2.5lbs), 30L pacsafe w 3 inside zippered pocket--even cutting everything off and out that I could the pacsafe was 1.7lbs vs this pack at less than 0.7 lbs.
