  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Monitor That Looks Very Cheap on the Backside & Casing
I bought this monitor to replace two Apple Thunderbolt displays as the resolution and connections were now outdated by a new MacBook Pro. Love this LB monitor from a functional standpoint and it gives you an awesome high resolution 5K display, but it is best to stay with Apple's native resolution settings in "System Preferences" with Catalina (instead of using LG's apps) especially if you use Windows under Parallel Desktop. Just use Parallels's coherence mode and set Window Ten's display setting to "scaled". There is only one Thunderbolt 3 connection, which has to be connected to my late 2019 MacBook Pro to drive the 5K monitor . There needs to be another Thunderbolt 3 connection for external drives so you only have to disconnect one cord and save wear and tear on the sockets with the monitor serving as a Thunderbolt 3 hub. My biggest gripe is the appearance, the backside is a cheap looking white on the backside with a silver stand, making it the worst looking monitor from the backside that I have ever owned. It also would be much better if it were a curved monitor due to the width of the viewing area. This display also does not provide enough power to keep your MacBook Pro charged, you will still need to use a charger. I did save a lot of money by buying a "renewed" product, and my office is now a private one, which are the only reasons that I did not send it back. If LG were to take care of these issues, they would have a perfect monitor for the latest MacBook Pros! ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good monitor, but it's modern equals are cheaper.
It's a great monitor, absolutely stunning picture, fully featured, almost the highest specs you could ask for, (not quite the 1,000 nits of brightness that hdr enthusiasts like, but it's quite a step up from your typical screen) the colour spectrum is also of professional studio caliber. The only drawback is the price, monitors are getting cheaper and cheaper, and 4k TV prices are falling faster than rocks. You can find a full uhd TV with similar specs to this monitor for under 200 dollars today, and if you wait a year it will get better and cheaper. I got mine refurbished for under $300, and it was pricy even then. I recommend to all but the extravagantly rich to opt for a newer, better, cheaper monitor. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars The product is good but this the worst renewed I've ever purchased
Returned the monitor because they even messed up the power cable. The power cable included is not useable for this monitor. The cable is for other LG monitors. Besides, thunderbolt cable is not included. HDMI and display cable is not the original cables, which should be white-colored cables rather than blacked ones. ... show more

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but pricey. Get it brand new if you can
I like many things about this monitor. However my unit has connection issues over usb-c/thunderbolt. I have to unplug from laptop and replug several times a day and that is very annoying for a $1k product

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars do not buy
The monitor failed right out of the box giving me multiple horizontal stripes across the panel. I spent some time trying different recommended cables to get maximum advertised resolution - it wasn't supported, just as other reviewers witnessed. After about an hour the monitor developed a strange looking defect in the corner of the screen. Stay away. ... show more

I love the size. Hard to get one this large that isn’t curved. I use it for photography and it is a game changer. Great monitor for pros.
