  • “The first time my desktop loaded, I thought the monitor was off.”
Size: 34 inches Style: 34GS95QE-B
I’ve kept my desktop pure black for years: auto-hide taskbar, no desktop icons, minimal everything. When I powered on this OLED and my desktop loaded, I genuinely thought the monitor was off. I moved the mouse and the cursor appeared, and that’s when it hit me. I had been lied to for over 20 years about what “black” was supposed to look like. Every LCD I’ve ever owned was just bright gray pretending. My ultimate “aha” moment was setting VSR to 4K and watching an LG OLED demo from the 8K Clarity channel on YouTube in HDR. That’s when it finally clicked what people mean by depth. Blacks aren’t just dark, they disappear. Bright elements don’t glow through a backlight, they feel like they exist independently in space. Blacks can be too dark if you want, but the settings are there to tune it. With the right HDR configuration, bright highlights feel like actual light, not just higher brightness. Poor tuning can make HDR look blown out, but when dialed in, it’s unreal. Motion clarity is another quiet flex. I went from 180 Hz to 240 Hz, and while high FPS always feels good, OLED motion feels sharper and more physical. Everything snaps. Games like Returnal, Death Stranding, and cinematic director’s-cut style titles feel cleaner and more intentional. Once you feel it, going back to a traditional display feels wrong. Color surprised me most. It’s not just vivid, it’s honest. Reds, sunlight, and HDR highlights stood out immediately, but nothing felt artificial. It manages to feel cinematic and accurate at the same time, which is rare. For desktop work, it’s fantastic. Dark mode feels natural, text is crisp, and the screen just disappears when you’re focused. I am mindful about static elements. I keep dark mode on and avoid leaving static images up, but the monitor includes burn-in protection. I once thought I had folder burn-in, but it turned out to be temporary ghosting. A quick pixel refresh and habit adjustment solved it completely. Gaming on this display is transformative. All games benefit, not just HDR showcases. Everything looks cleaner, more dimensional, and more intentional. It doesn’t just make games prettier, it makes them feel new again. Bottom line: You don’t realize how compromised image quality has been your entire life until you use OLED. Once you experience this level of fidelity, contrast, and motion clarity, it’s extremely hard to accept anything less. This display is for people who want the best image available, full stop. ... show more

  • Fantastic OLED Monitor for Windows - LG continues to impress me.
Size: 34 inches Style: 34GS95QE-B
Before this monitor I had another LG 34" which was from a few generations ago. I thought that was the best monitor I've ever owned, and until I got this one it was in fact the best monitor I'd ever owned. This monitor exceeds that one in every way imaginable, and by every metric. The colors fly off the screen they seem more real, less muddy than my previous backlight based monitor. The blacks, I had no idea what blacks could be like. I thought "Really how good could it be?".. But trust me, once you have actual black as your base reference every thing else feels more real somehow. The colors seem to come to life. Games I've played, videos I've watch with my prior monitor seem better and newer. This is not hyperbole, it lends dimension beyond just being black. This screen is 240Hz refresh rate and I'm sure that translate to some gaming metrics, personally I play a lot of ARPG games and some other single player games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Horizon Forbidden West for example. So for me I don't really see any difference between my previous 160Hz and this 240Hz with the exception being GtG performance which scene transitions in games and movies is seamless and wonderful. You may notice the additional frame rates in FPS games but I don't play those so I can't say. For what I do, it does it flawlessly. In terms of size and weight this monitor is similar to my previous LG monitor however it is thinner, but I use a monitor arm and not the stand it comes with so thickness doesn't make much difference to me. The LED lights on the back don't do anything for me personally but I use Govee monitor lights for screen color during movies and gaming so I don't really need to use the built RGB lights in the back. The bezel is thinner than my previous LG monitor at the sides which I do like aesthetically. I was concerned about OLED but this monitor has a suite of monitor care you have to enable in settings but I feel that they will certainly help with the burn issues with OLED (at least I hope so). Just know the settings I'm talking about do not come turned on by default and you'll need to enable them yourself which I suggest you do as they are meant to prevent the burn in issues. I really only have one complaint with this monitor at this point, and it's nitpicking but it's the menu button control. It's on the back of the monitor. It's easy enough to reach but my hand cramps if I have to use it for a prolonged period of time (which honestly after you set this up you don't have to touch it again really). But my previous LG has the bottom at the bottom of the monitor and I have to be honest I found it easier to use than the one of this monitor. But I'm nit picking like I said. One last thing, if you use Windows (I have never used a Mac in my life) you'll want to make sure to set your Sharpness settings to 55 and then setup Windows Clear Type and also the HDR profile (the one from RTINGS is SDR only). You'll have to download the HDR utility from the Microsoft store (Windows 11 did it automatically for me). I also found the default a bit to yellow for my liking and put the manual color temp to C2 which looks better to my eyes (whites look white to me now). Anyway with the above adjustments (sans the color temp one) my text looks as good to me as my previous LG monitor did and I have no complaints anymore. Honestly, if you're in the market for a new monitor and your budget allows for it you should seriously consider this one. This is my 2nd LG monitor (two in a row) and they haven't let me down yet. ... show more

  • 34 in ultrawide 800r curve 240hz
Size: 34 inches Style: 34GS95QE-B
This monitor is beast and I stole it for 750$. If this was full price though at 1300$ there's better options but this is def a premium monitor. Reminder this is OLED technology so text clarity is not a strong suit due to the technology so that in no way shape or form knocks off any stars from this 5 star product. It's excellent for gaming! Super responsive, high refresh rate, solid build quality. It does have a matte coating but it's really not even remotely close to as bad as people say. Picture quality is still bright, vibrant and crystal clear. One thing to note is normal ultrawides are normally 1800r curve and at this curve being slight makes it wide and immersive. Now this one with 800r curve bends it so aggressively that it honestly takes away from the immersion as the sides of the monitor are brought closer together to make the harder curve but this is not bad at all. You can see the whole monitor better with peripherals making it easier to use for fps games. I was torn between this and immersion but then I decided to return this just cause I came to the conclusion I rather have immersion from 1800r curve so I then picked up the g85sb from Samsung but his LG is so dope and it looks so good! When or if I become a little more competitive I might get this again. Somehow to me I think this 800r curve makes it easier to aim on mouse and keyboard. I feel like seeing the whole monitor easier and the curve fits the eyes natural curve. Might be placebo but it works for me. If your on the fence I'd buy it. Return it if you want to try something else but keep in mind the refund process is 30 days so if your offered payments from Amazon this process would be more appealing as you are not putting the full price down. ... show more

  • Excellent monitor
Size: 34 inches Style: 34GS95QE-B
This monitor is fantastic. Colors are fantastic. I game on it all the time and never have issues with it. Image cleaning can happen at random times but thats a setting you can change. No burn in after about 8 months of heavy use. But I also use a pure black desktop and have the system setting to jitter the screen every once in a while. Set up with a vesa monitor stand was also easy but the one it comes with is heavy and feels high quality. ... show more

  • Just amazed!!!Well worth the money
Size: 34 inches Style: 34GS95QE-B
Coming from a Cooling Master 1000r 34" monitor. This monitor just screams quality. The blacks are so deep it's the same black as if the monitor is off. Just true extreme black. Straight out of the box the monitor was perfect for brightness and color (select settings Game 1, pixil move mode 2, do a pixil clean, set custom color temp to w1). Make sure you select HDR in windows display setting and set SDR brightness to 50%(windows 11 says this monitor is not HDR certified but it is and that dialog does not affect anything). If you use the monitor audio using certified HDMI2.1b, you'll cap out at 85Hz. If you just this monitor for video only, you'll get 240Hz using HDMI 2.1 b. I tested that with a AMD RX 9070xt on a AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d. If your monitor is acting weird straight out of the box (line, blurry,etc..) do a pixel clean. The pixel clean on this monitor is freaking awesome, and it will do one automatically after 4 hours of use, only if the CPU is asleep or monitor is sleep/turned off. ... show more

  • One of the best monitors out there One of the best monitors out there
Size: 34 inches Style: 34GS95QE-B
This monitor is insane. What I really like is that it does an image clean every time you turn it off to prevent burn ins since OLED is notorious for that. Pictures are very clean and clear. I play a lot of sports games and the refresh rate is perfect, no lag. Very smooth gameplay. Not too wide and the curve makes games extremely immersive. I was actually choosing between this monitor and the 49” Odyssey (which was surprisingly cheaper) and still went with this. Best decision I made, more curve and not too wide so I can fit my other monitors on my desk. If you’re thinking about getting it, don’t think. Just get it. You won’t regret it at all. Hard to find true black on screens nowadays but not this one. Get it. ... show more

  • Broke after 6 months
Size: 34 inches Style: 34GS95QE-B
UPDATE 12/31/2024: I am dropping to a one star review because after only around 6 months of OCCASIONAL use, the monitor has completely died on me while I happened to be working from home for a change. I had seen some severe flickering a few weeks ago but didn’t feel like diagnosing if it was my cable, card, or the monitor, so I simply stopped using it for a bit. There was no flickering leading up to it dying. Worked fine until it didn’t. Not acceptable at this price point. Text looks fine, but that’s not why you get this anyway, is it? The monitor looks great. It’s about the same height as a 27”, so it felt natural to transition. It just kinda feels like a 27” with more field of view. The colors are great, I LOVE having the full resolution and refresh rate over HDMI, something I was looking for to make easier use of the elgato 4k x, but all this comes at one major caveat. This thing is not worth its full retail price. I got mine for like $750 on sale. This has I think like 300 nit peak brightness which is criminally low for something that even MENTIONS HDR, even if it’s one of the “HDR’nt” specs. It is noticeably dim, so dim I had to turn my $200 secondary monitor’s brightness down to like 70% because it was distractingly brighter. Contrast is still fine because it IS still an OLED, but compared to the 77” C2 I have literally touching it on the left side, I mean… this monitor is less than half the size, 1440p, and retails for like half the price, and it’s less than a third of the brightness? Yes, it’s curved and yes it’s 240hz but there’s no way around the problem that is the value proposition. At full price you’ve got some steep competition. I don’t regret it for the sale price, it still looks GOOD, but as someone who doesn’t return things ever, I would’ve if I paid over a grand for this. ... show more

Big ass monitor but not too big where you gotta look left to right while gaming , colors are exquisite, do not regret the purchase and I’ve owned this for 15 months , only bad thing I have to say about it is for the price it’s not a smart monitor , no remote , no WiFi connectivity , bare bones settings navigation , but it doesn’t advertise itself as so , that’s just a minor complaint if I had to think of one thing !
