  • Best Monitor for Document Reading/Review - Wish The Price Wasn't So High
Style: Ergo Stand
First, I am a practicing attorney. I review large PDF documents constantly. This is a key reason I purchased this monitor. For years I have struggled with widescreen monitors, because to fit one page on the screen, I had to sacrifice tons of real estate on the right and left sides of each page. This monitor solves that problem perfectly. Reading long documents in a legible size that's kind to the eyes is a breeze with this monitor. While some complain of the picture quality and refresh rates, these are not a problem for me at all. I am also very pleasantly surprised with the internal speakers on this display. I actually removed the Bose speakers from my desk as a space-saver once I had the opportunity to test the sound quality of the monitor. Big plus. Frankly, the only downside to this monitor is the price. It is quite costly in comparison to my other LG monitors, both of which are 3840 x 2160. Over $600 is quite costly, and while the built-in ergo stand is nice, it doesn't add a ton of value to the monitor, as mounting arms are generally inexpensive these days. I really wish other companies would make monitors of this size and aspect ratio. For anyone who works in the legal field, or who just does a lot of document reviews on a PC, this is the perfect size. I also want to add that I have now owned this monitor for over one year without problems. Some other reviews have dinged this monitor for poor quality control, but that has not been an issue for me at all. ... show more

  • 5 Stars on Many Levels
Style: Tilt/Height/Swivel Stand
I don't know where to even start with this monitor. It is THE perfect monitor for a multi PC set up. I use my MacBook Pro that I use for video/photo editing and a PC that was build for 3D rendering for architecture. This is not my main monitor but the ability to use a split screen for both computers is awesome but I truly like it for primarily my MacBook. I have the monitor connected to a CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 dock that connects to my Macbook and I can use the monitor to split the screen to use it as a stacked monitor. That part is huge for me. I can full screen YouTube/MLB games or whatever I want and still have another monitor for doing anything else. As for using with my PC, I like using it in the full screen orientation. It is a different experience being able to use it as one full screen. The colors pop out really nice and the resolution is crystal clear. I'm not going to go through the full specs of this monitor, but if you're looking for something to be compatible with multiple PCs or a setup like I do, I cannot recommend it enough. I'm honestly looking to get a second one to replace the vertical monitor on the right side. LG was going for something different with this monitor and they knocked it out of the park. I'm very impressed and will most likely buy another one. It is just that good ... show more

  • Excellent monitor for developers and analysts
Style: Tilt/Height/Swivel Stand
The vertical screens makes it really easy to look at larger pieces of code. This is not only helpful for seeing the bigger context, but can also help developers with eye problems to look at more code lines with a larger font.

  • Take Some time to get used to it
Style: Ergo Stand
I needed the room as I am usually editing videos with Premiere and After Effects. Also using Photoshop and browsers and... well, running out of room. I was not comfortable at first but after I got used to the setup, I don't think I can go back. Great for my work area. 4 Stars on picture quality as it's not the highest of quality but for text and even some videos, it is pretty good. Little pricey, but I am happy. Go for it, you have thirty days to decide! ... show more

  • Great concept, they should build bigger ones

Great concept for productivity. Fonts are a bit too small. LG should follow the same concept and build 34 inch ones

  • For an M1 Mac mini, It Gets You Around the 2-Monitor Limit
Style: Ergo Stand
I use a pen display, which requires the HDMI port of my M1 Mac Mini. When I had an Intel Mini, I also had a 2k and an FHD monitor, giving me three monitors in total. But switching over to the M1, I lost that extra monitor and it really wasn't *that* bad, but I missed having 3 monitors so I could access files without having to do the whole hide-drag-unhide dance. This monitor solves that problem by giving me what, in essence, is three monitors again. I have my main app on the lower half and my Finder windows on the upper and I can drag between them pretty easily. But there are issues... 1) This monitor is like have two **21"** 2k monitors. My 2k before was 24", so things are kind of smaller. 2) Because of 1, I set the resolution to 2048x2304 instead of the full 2560x2880 just so things aren't so small. Really wish this monitor was sized as 2 24" 2k monitors. 3) You have one menu bar, and one Dock, which, depending on how you place them, seem so far away from one another. I know you can have two connections so that this monitor acts as two displays, but with an M1, you can't do that. Love, though, that I can have my Apple TV also hooked up and change it to PBP so I can have the TV and my computer at the same time. Problem with that, though, is that the Mac changes the main display to the 16" pen display, *every time,* and if I want it working like I want, I have to fuss with the Displays preference, *every time.* Also, I wish this monitor would let me default the HDMI from the Apple TV to the top instead of the bottom. Still not sure how much I like this monitor, but for day-to-day, the extra space is hard to give up. Side Note: I ditched their nice Ergo arm for a vertical post VESA, just so I could put the monitor as far back as possible. I like that Ergo arm - it's smooth - but it just doesn't work for me. As for purchasing as Amazon refurb: I got a monitor that was tagged as Amazon's lowest standard, but it is near perfect. There is a small patch of dead pixels on one edge in the shape of someone's finger, but the doesn't bother me. The cables were good, the monitor is good. Surprisingly great quality. ... show more

  • Serves its Purpose
Style: Ergo Stand
Bought this as a WFH monitor to free up desk space. Not the best resolution and is nuanced but does what it says it is going to do.
