    • A barely upgrade from my cheaper, 3 year old Samsung monitor.
I got one to replace a Samsung U28E590 that was just ok overall. its a bit brighter, a tiny bit more contrast. it does react better to switching inputs or waking from sleep. the standout feature though is the stand, it extends, tilts, rotates very nicely. the baseplate is heavy and large, larger than the old displays stand, which made a desk re-arrange a must. calling it HDR compatible is really pushing it. running HDR media through it looked worse than non-hdr media, the colors were more muted and the picture seemed dim. but it did work with HDR media, just not well. plenty of I/O, USB C was nice, and came with a full set of cables. so more expensive than my old monitor, quality was a bit better, controls were better, stand was better, but not substantially so that I found it a proper upgrade. ... show more

Writing a quick review to help others, since I found monitor shopping to be surprisingly convoluted. I was looking for a monitor that did the following, and this seemed (at $396) to be the cheapest monitor that checked all the boxes. A bit surprised that it’s not more discussed on tech blogs/Wirecutter/etc, since I’ve been super happy with it! * Supported the Less Text-More Text options on MacOS (as opposed to just offering 1080p, which makes for overly-large text on a display of this size) * Had a USB-C connection * Supported power delivery to a 13” MacBook Pro (the 40W here seems sufficient, even though the laptop came with a 61W brick) * Had (at least) 2 USB-A ports that also ran off the USB-C connection * Offered height adjustment ... show more

I purchased this monitor to replace a Philips monitor that would never hold its setting when it came back from sleep mode (in a dual monitor setting). This monitor has been flawless and the picture is just as good as the more expensive Dell ultrasharp 27 4K I use as my other monitor in my dual monitor set up. September: I asked them to send a power cord, they sent a whole new screen and everything. Original monitor turned on fine with the new WORKING power cord. Retuned the broken power cord, etc. August: Followed directions, put screen all together, plugged in the power…and nothing. We ordered over 30 of these for the office and employee home offices, and a couple didn’t work. I ordered one for my home office and nothing. Idk if it is the power cord or the computer itself. Resolution on this is awesome. For my purpose for work as well as entertainment this is so good. Text looks very crisp and videos are amazing as well. First I bought Samsung odyssey 27inch G3 which is so bad it did not serve the purpose as monitor too blur text. This is worth the money.

    • picture quality and viewing angles are amazing
The picture quality is amazing. The viewing angle is amazing in both horizontal and vertical mode. One minor issue is that on my M1 MacBook Pro I don't have and option for 75Hertz; max is 60Hertz.

    • USB-C & HDMI ports don't work; screen crooked; can't interact with firmware window
USB-C port has never worked; one HDMI port has never worked; other HDMI port works intermittently; workmanship of other ports looks shoddy; the screen (the physical screen) when attached to the mount is crooked/angled due to poor workmanship. When I plug in the display a firmware window appears asking me to press enter or choose the other option but there is no way to interact with the firmware. I downloaded and installed software from the LG site but it doesn't seem to do anything. I do NOT recommend this product. ... show more
