    • Great displays for an amazing price, with a couple of "nice-to-know" notes
I bought three of these. I use one for regular computer use and use all three together when running stock trading charts. The displays look great and work really well independently as well as together, mostly because of the "borderless" frames. I'm so happy with them. The 2560x1440 size is basically a 2K monitor which is, unfortunately, becoming harder to find. I loved the 2K resolution on my old Apple Thunderbolt monitors and I wanted to replicate them, but 4K seemed to be the thing at the time. However, when I tried a 4K monitor, I found that it caused more eye strain so 2K ended up being the sweet spot for me. I'm very happy with the deep blacks, great resolution and good light control. I do a lot of design work on a Mac, but would be happy to use these monitors for that as well if I did not need a PC for charts. The price of these is actually pretty amazing as well. A couple of things to know: -- these use either HDMI (2x) or DP-IN cables, so make sure you have inputs for those types in your computer. -- the stands are not all the same height, so if you are using several monitors, they may not line up. It's close, but I personally would like it better if they were the same height since I extend my screen to span all three monitors as a virtual single screen. -- obviously make sure your graphics cards can handle 2K, especially if using multiple monitors. The media could not be loaded. The LG 32 inch monitor boasts not only a vast screen space but also a plethora of settings allowing for fine-tuned customization. Right out of the box, it’s evident that it's designed to impress. But like many, I discovered that while its dazzling effects were immediate, taking the time to calibrate it further enhanced its performance. Relying on the RTINGS calibration guide, I managed to pinpoint settings that worked wonders for me – from adjusting the Black Stabilizer under Game Adjust to fine-tuning color values. But, let’s address an often-overlooked feature: screen brightness control on Windows and Mac. A revelation I recently came across was the monitor's compatibility with programs utilizing DDC/CI, such as TwinkleTray or ClickMonitor. This discovery was monumental. If you've lamented about the screen brightness not syncing natively with your operating system, these programs are the answer. Not only can you manipulate brightness levels, but also adjust contrast. A significant bonus is their ability to schedule brightness changes based on the time of day, catering to those sensitive to screen brightness, like me. This feature significantly reduced my eye strain, making prolonged work or gaming sessions much more comfortable. For Linux users, especially those using Ubuntu with Intel Graphics, there might be compatibility hiccups. However, solutions do exist, even if it means a slight investment in adapters or switches to different desktop environments. Performance-wise, this monitor stands out for both productivity applications and games that aren’t too demanding on refresh rates. FPS gamers might want to look into 120Hz or 144Hz monitors for smoother experiences. Still, for most, the LG 32 inch with its 2K resolution offers impeccable clarity and detail. The inclusion of multiple ports, especially 2 HDMI and 1 Display Port, enhances its versatility, making it suitable for those with multiple devices.     • Good quality at an unbeatable price.
If you are on a budget but still want a decent quality 1440p monitor, this won't do you wrong. However, don't expect to be blown away by it. Previously I was daily driving a 1080p Asus. I bought two of these LGs for a dual screen setup. After switching to these, I was a little disappointed with colors. The Asus had better contrast, brightness, saturation, & black levels. I also noticed the lack of local dimming zones. However, it's still acceptable for everyday casual use. I primarily work from my computer but occasionally game too. It's perfectly fine for me, but if you do professional color grading work or want a gaming experience with really vibrant colors or a good HDR experience, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a good 1440p experience at a currently (2021) quite enticing price, this monitor is tough to beat. Despite it's shortcomings, I'm very happy with my decision to buy 2 of these. Things I love: - Not necessarily specific to this monitor, but 27" is a great size for 1440p. (108 ppi) - Menus & navigation. It was really easy to customize all settings to my liking - Ultra slim bezels! - No dead pixels. I have 2 of these monitors. - Black level adjust. No more eye strain in games with dark scenes - Matte black screen handles reflections well. - PRICE! At least at the time of purchase, nothing else competes, or even exists at this price point. Cons - Viewing angles. Has a perfect viewing spot. Outside of that, blacks are inconsistent across the screen. - Backlight bleed. Problematic with screen brightness above 65-70%. - Black levels. Does not have deep blacks. Black is still black, but other monitors have much deeper blacks. - HDR experience. Wouldn't recommend bothering with it. - Power cable. Short cable, w/ barrel plug into monitor and an adapter to take up lots of space on your power strip. - Color/Contrast/Saturation. It's no OLED. It's even easily beaten by other IPS monitors. Still acceptable, but don't expect any similarities here with the LG TVs you may see in the store. Conclusion: None of the cons were a deal breaker for me and I'm happy. 1440p monitors are expensive, but a dual monitor setup was reasonable with these. If you have the money to spend on a higher quality 1440p monitor, do it. But if you are like me and want decent quality 1440p on as small of a budget as possible, this monitor is absolutely the way to go. ... show more
