  • Impressive monitor with few downsides.
Style: UltraGear Monitor W/ Sphere Lighting
Picked a couple of these up on sale to replace an old ultrawide set of monitors that started to die. The picture quality/performance on these is impressive, easily worth the price. The software that comes with the monitors is...less so. For example, you can control the LED lighting on your monitors using the software...ONE of the monitors at least. The software currently doesn't support control of more than one monitor, and in fact will *disable* control of the lighting if you have more than one monitor plugged in. You can find a third-party software that lets you control the lights on both monitors, but you shouldn't need to. May not sound like a huge issue, but if you're dropping this much cash on something you expect the software that comes with it to...well, work. ... show more

  • Great balance for work and gaming
Style: UltraGear Monitor
I got this monitor, because I wanted something to use for work and some occasional gaming. I have a 2018 Intel MacBook Pro and a 2019 HP Omen (i7-8750H, RTX 2060 6GB). The LG 27GP95R works great using a USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable connected to the MacBook Pro, which supports running at 4K@95Hz through a Razer Chroma dock. macOS is able to scale everything to "look like 1440p", but with the additional sharpness of 4K. Colors look good and text is sharp. My gaming laptop has a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort, so I can use the same cable to run at 4K 144hz. It's a slightly older computer though, so I have to run games at 1080p, but they still look great. 1080p scales evenly into 4K, so I find that the graphics still look good. Since the 27GP95R is a regular LCD panel, colors aren't going to be nearly as vibrant as OLED or miniLED monitors, but everything still looks much nicer and crisper when compared to a generic office monitor. The viewing angles are good, text looks sharp, and the high refresh rate is amazing for gaming. ... show more

  • G-SYNC Compatible is not the same as G-SYNC. Don't fall for shady marketing like I did.
Style: UltraGear Monitor W/ Sphere Lighting
I don't have a single good thing to say about this $800 piece of junk. After trying to get used to this monitor for a week, I will be returning it due to a few major issues: 1. This monitor DOES NOT have native support for G-SYNC. It's "G-SYNC Compatible", which means it can be used with G-SYNC cards, but only supports a limited version of adaptive sync down to 48Hz. This leads to significant problems in all games I have tried so far. Stuttering is very common in games even at 80-90fps. Expect to have to make a choice for each game whether to turn G-SYNC on or not. One of the main reasons I purchased this monitor was for G-SYNC. 2. The display turns "black" for about 1 second very frequently. I have tried multiple DP1.4 cables and all of the available DP ports on my graphics card. After reading other reviews, it appears that this is a known issue and has not been fixed and probably never will be. How can a monitor be on the market that has an issue like this? 3. Terrible image quality and contrast. Black does not exist at all on this thing, and it's very distracting. Backlight bleed is the worst I have ever seen, and the local dimming feature draws even more attention to it. Even after turning off local dimming and attempting to adjust settings, there is simply no way to get a good quality image from this monitor. ... show more

  • Not bad so far
Style: UltraGear Monitor
I've been using this for a few months now and the monitor is fine, not the greatest but it's okay, only problem I see with it besides sunlight not allowing you to see the monitor clearly, (regular light in the house is fine) The only problem is once in awhile you have to turn off the monitor and turn it back on because they'll be a weird cut in the middle of the screen that makes you think your screen's screwed but once you restart the monitor everything goes away, this doesn't happen often I believe it only happened to me five or seven times throughout the 6 months of owning it, I believe this problem occurs when You're changing the resolution of your screen on the computer for a game and it glitches out for a second but I'm not too certain ... show more

  • The worst monitor, except for all the others
Style: UltraGear Monitor W/ Sphere Lighting
This is a very good monitor, all things considered. However, it has one serious flaw that needs to be considered: overclock mode is broken. If you enable it, you will experience regular black screens where the monitor stops working for 3-5 seconds and then the image reappears. This will, of course, happen at the worst possible times. That being said, I've yet to find a monitor in the market that doesn't have _some_ issue, so I decided I could live with this and I only use it on 144hz mode which is more than enough. I tried a Samsung Odyssey G7 before this which was complete garbage in comparison to the LG and was filled with dead pixels and terrible font rendering. So, if you're looking for a decently priced 4K 144hz monitor and are okay paying for a broken overclock mode that you won't use, I can actually recommend this. The image quality is fantastic and the RGB mode is very pleasant and has a nice physical dial. ... show more

  • Not a bad monitor for the class, but temper your expectations.
Style: UltraGear Monitor
I see many in the reviews are disappointed, and justifiable so. The reality is, there's no simple, perfect monitor on the market in this price range, but the marketing material wants you to believe otherwise. If you understand what you're really paying for, this monitor is reasonable within its class and doing no worse than its competitors. What you're really paying for: 4k, 160Hz with adaptive sync, better than average color vibrancy, better than average pixel response time for fast pace gaming. (Note: do not use the fastest response time setting. as it introduces too much reverse ghosting) What you sacrifice for the above features: Contrast, black level, HDR, color accuracy out of the box. There's no monitor that check all the boxes at this price range. This is a reasonable compromise if you're buying this for gaming, but not ideal if you're buying this to watch movie/shows with frequent dark scenes. ... show more
