  • 10/10
Model name: 27G61ZB-B.AUSQ
Very good monitor. It’s my first monitor, and it does the job very well. It’s adjustable, feels sturdy, and is bigger than I expected. Overall, I’d give it a 10/10. The only issue I noticed was a single dead pixel, but it doesn’t really bother me or affect gaming because it’s barely noticeable. The other pixels make it virtually impossible to see during normal use. I don’t think it’s worth the hassle of replacing the monitor over one tiny dead pixel. Aside from that, the monitor works perfectly, has great image quality, and I’d definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Dead Pixel Appeared After a Week + Vertical Ghosting Issues
Model name: 27G61ZB-B.AUSQ
I bought this monitor knowing I was taking a bit of a risk, since there were no scores or reviews for it on Amazon or anywhere else. It was priced very competitively in the $190–$200 range, LG is a brand I generally trust, and the specifications looked solid on paper. First of all, the monitor comes with a DisplayPort 1.4 cable and a universal power adapter that supports 110V–240V, so it should work anywhere in the world. However, if you're outside the U.S., you'll need a cheap outlet adapter because it includes a standard U.S. three-pin plug. Also, keep in mind that the power cable is a bit shorter than usual. The monitor includes two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort input, and a headphone jack. Assembly was extremely easy — there was only one screw to tighten, and that was it. The stand arm also attaches to the monitor quickly and securely. The default color settings already looked good, although I increased the brightness slightly (I'm using the default profile with brightness set to 70). This is a very bright monitor — the claimed 400 nits seem accurate — and it performs well even in a bright room. Colors are vivid and look great in every scenario: desktop use, software, videos, and gaming. The sharpness and pixel density are excellent; you can clearly tell this is a true QHD monitor with crisp image quality and no gimmicks. When it comes to gaming, the monitor initially feels very responsive, and the response time is fast. However, in fast-paced first-person shooters like Counter-Strike, or during rapid motion at lower frame rates with VRR enabled, noticeable ghosting appears. You can see vertical trails following moving objects, which becomes quite distracting. Lower refresh rates make the issue even worse. In my experience, it's better to disable FreeSync (VRR) on this monitor, since enabling it seems to increase the ghosting noticeably. At first, the monitor seemed perfect, but after a few days, a single red dead pixel appeared on the screen. HDR performance is also disappointing. HDR mode looks somewhat dim even at maximum brightness, and the colors are not nearly as vibrant as expected. In HDR gaming, the image looks very similar to SDR, so if HDR quality is your main priority, this probably isn't the right monitor for you. Overall, this is a budget-friendly 27-inch 2560x1440 (QHD/2K) gaming monitor with great colors, excellent sharpness, and strong pixel density for the price. The downsides are the potential for dead pixels over time, poor HDR performance, a short power cable, and noticeable inverse ghosting. ... show more

  • Excellent Budget QHD Monitor Held Back by Poor Quality Control
Model name: 27G61ZB-B.AUSQ
The main reason I'm giving this monitor 3 out of 5 stars is because of a quality control issue with the unit I received. As soon as I took it out of the box, I could hear something loose moving around inside the monitor. Even after setting it up, every time I tilt or rotate the display, I can hear the object sliding around inside the casing. I have no way of knowing whether it's a loose screw, a piece of plastic, or another internal component. If it's just a small plastic clip, it may not cause any problems, but if it's a loose metal screw, there is always the possibility that it could make contact with internal electronics and potentially cause a short circuit. Even if nothing ever happens, it's not something I should have to worry about on a brand-new monitor. The display itself performs well for the price, but this quality control issue significantly reduced my confidence in the product and is the primary reason I cannot rate it higher. For the price, I think this monitor offers very good value. At this price point, it's difficult to find a 27-inch QHD IPS display with a native 200Hz refresh rate, and overall it delivers a surprisingly good gaming experience. The image quality is very acceptable for a budget gaming monitor. The 2560x1440 resolution provides a sharp image on a 27-inch panel, making games, videos, and desktop work look crisp without requiring any scaling. The IPS panel produces good colors and wide viewing angles, and while it's not intended to compete with higher-end Mini LED or OLED displays, the overall picture quality is more than good enough for everyday gaming. One thing that stood out to me is the motion handling. Despite being an IPS panel, ghosting is kept under control much better than I expected. There is some ghosting if you look for it in fast-moving scenes, but during normal gameplay it isn't distracting and never became a problem for me. Fast-paced games remain smooth, especially when taking advantage of the 200Hz refresh rate. For a monitor in this price range, I think LG has done a good job balancing response times without introducing excessive overshoot. The monitor also includes useful gaming features such as AMD FreeSync Premium, Black Stabilizer, Crosshair, and an FPS counter. Connectivity is sufficient with both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, and the included stand is another highlight. It offers height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, making it easy to find a comfortable viewing position without immediately needing a VESA monitor arm. Build quality feels solid, and the thin bezels give it a modern appearance. Assembly is quick and straightforward, and once on the desk the monitor feels stable with very little wobble. Another advantage is the VESA mount compatibility. If you plan to upgrade your setup with a monitor arm or mount it on a sim racing cockpit, the monitor supports standard VESA mounting, making installation quick and straightforward. This gives you much more flexibility for positioning the screen exactly where you want it while also freeing up desk space. It's a nice feature to have, especially for gamers who plan to build a more customized setup in the future. Overall, this is a monitor that focuses on delivering the features that matter most without driving up the price. The screen quality is very respectable, ghosting is minimal for an IPS gaming panel, and the overall gaming experience is enjoyable. If you're looking for a budget-friendly QHD high-refresh monitor, I think this offers excellent value for the money and is an easy recommendation for gamers who want strong performance without spending significantly more. ... show more

  • A great IPS monitor for gaming and everyday use!
Model name: 27G61ZB-B.AUSQ
This LG UltraGear 27" QHD (2560x1440) 200Hz gaming monitor is an outstanding budget option that delivers sharp visuals, vibrant colors, smooth performance, and excellent ergonomics, making it ideal for both gaming and everyday use. Positives: - Sharp QHD resolution with crisp text and detailed images, a noticeable upgrade from 1080p. - Fast 200Hz refresh rate provides very smooth motion for gaming and scrolling. - Excellent out-of-the-box color accuracy, vibrancy, and brightness on the IPS panel with strong viewing angles. - Fully adjustable stand with height, tilt, swivel, and pivot (portrait mode) adjustments. - Solid build quality, simple setup, and a matte screen finish that effectively reduces glare and reflections. - Great value at around $199–$200 with strong performance for gaming (e.g., COD, Fortnite) and office work. - Supports AMD FreeSync Premium to eliminate tearing and includes HDR10 as a bonus. - Customizable OSD with useful gaming features like crosshair and frame rate counter. - Text clarity is great at this price point, especially when you run ClearType in Windows 11. Negatives: - None so far. Considerations: - FreeSync performs best when using DisplayPort (rather than HDMI). - HDR is functional but not a standout feature, this might just be how the monitor performed on my system, though. Overall: A highly recommended, well-rounded 27" QHD monitor that offers exceptional bang for the buck. It excels as a versatile all-purpose display for gaming, productivity, and general use with very few drawbacks. • Fantastic $200 QHD monitor with sharp and acurate color.
Model name: 27G61ZB-B.AUSQ
This is a great all around monitor for the office or home and casual gaming. The QHD resolution and 27" size is the perfect compromise of price and performance without stepping up to a 4k monitor. If you're coming from the 1080p world, this is a no brainer. No, the text clarity is not as sharp as my 4k 27" Samsung, but if I didn't have them side by side, I would easily adapt to the QHD quality, no problem. Pixel peeping with a 2x magnifier, I was pretty impressed with the clarity of both and how close they really are in edge definition. Where this monitor excels is the stellar out of the box color rendition. The colors are accurate, vivid and bright and nearly identical to my Samsung that I've spent time calibrating. I viewed a 4k rainy night street walking video simultaneously, along with a third monitor, a Samsung 4k 32" VA panel. This was done at night, where the VA should have had a big edge in black levels and contrast. Astoundingly, both IPS panels kept up with the VA, with good black levels, no loss of shadow details and excellent color and picture quality. I'll skip over HDR as it's unnecessary for my use case, but the 200Hz refresh rate is so smooth when scrolling, I wish my 4k Samsungs were quicker. The fully adjustable stand is something you rarely see on an entry level monitor. It adjusts up and down vertically, turns side to side, tilts front to back and can swing up into a portrait format. Just make sure to finish tightening when assembling with a screwdriver. Big value with this $200 monitor and it's hard to go wrong. ... show more

  • Sharp QHD Gaming Monitor with Excellent Ergonomics...
Model name: 27G61ZB-B.AUSQ
I've been using this LG UltraGear 27-inch monitor on my desktop setup, and it has worked very well. The 2560x1440 QHD resolution is a noticeable upgrade over 1080p, providing a sharp image for both gaming and everyday use. Text is crisp, colors look accurate, and the IPS panel offers excellent viewing angles. The 200Hz refresh rate makes motion appear very smooth, especially in fast-paced games, and AMD FreeSync Premium helps eliminate screen tearing. HDR10 support adds some extra punch to compatible content, though I view it as a nice bonus rather than the primary reason to choose this monitor. One of my favorite features is the stand. Height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments make it easy to position exactly where I want it, which is especially useful during long sessions at the desk. Connectivity is straightforward with both HDMI and DisplayPort options available. Build quality feels solid, setup was simple, and the monitor has performed reliably during use. For anyone looking for a fast QHD gaming monitor with strong image quality and excellent adjustability, this has been a very good addition to my setup. ... show more
