These fit great! They are a loose/relaxed boot, so the legs will mimic more of a slim wide leg, which is exactly what I was looking for. They’re a structured denim so they don’t have stretch, but will loosen up with wear if that makes sense. My only complaint is that I ordered the size recommended, but needed to size down. I have worn boot cut jeans for decades… and these are not them. The width of the bottom opening of these jeans is so wide, it’s about two hand lengths for me. With shoes (or dare I say boots!) on, they almost encase or hide the entire shoe. That’s not what boot cut is supposed to mean. So if you accept that these are actually bell bottom jeans, then read on: The quality of denim is as expected for Levi’s- it’s great. This company has been making denim for a super long time and makes it well. However, note that this is NOT stretch denim. The Good Fortune color was a nice dark blue, consistent throughout except on the front thighs where there is intentional fading/lightening/“wear”. The pocket setup is also standard Levi’s. Bottom line, due to the design/style, I would 100% return them if I could. I don’t feel like the photos accurately captured the wideness of the openings and “bootcut” is just wrong. But for Bellbottoms, they would be great. ... show more

Others said you should size down and I didn’t; I’ve returned the larger size and am considering keeping the smaller. The quality of the denim is high; good cotton content and they feel like actual jeans and not glorified leggings. They’re being generous in anyway calling these bootcut. The closest I’d connect them yo bootcut is that that are slightly more fitted through the hips and thighs than the current trend of wide leg or baggy jeans, which I appreciate. ... show more

I’m really liking my new Levi’s Middy jeans. When I first saw them advertised on Amazon, I thought the look cool but I wondered Middy? Why Middy? Turns out it refers to the mid-rise styling. (Duh, right?) Levi’s aims for these jeans to land in the sweet spot between “restrictive at the waist” and “no midriff showing.” My honest opinion is that they’re pretty close to a high-rise style, which is terrific as far as I’m concerned. I don’t care for jeans that ride low on my hips because they always feel like they’re falling off, plus I don’t like my bare tummy being visible. Maybe that’s just me and reflective of my body shape. But if you’re also someone with a discernable waist, you may feel the same. It’s totally personal preference. Levi’s also describes these as “boot jeans,” but they’re not what I’d typically consider a bootcut. I think of that style as a narrow flare designed to allow for wearing boots. These Middy jeans are much wider than that in the style that’s so trendy today. Their retro look is reminiscent of what people called “bell bottoms” in the 1960s, if you look at old ads or photos from that era. The vintage look these jeans is complemented by the “abraided art” color. I had to consult my AI friend Rufus on what that meant. It refers to a specific denim finish that has an abraded or distressed texture. In other words, the fabric treatment leaves the jeans looking faded and lived in right from the get-go. In any case, I find these jeans form-flattering and super comfy, with the quality I can always count on from Levi’s. They fit like a dream. I wore them all day yesterday for everything from an early doctor appointment to errands to lounging around reading a book. Being brand new, they felt a bit snug at my waist and hips first thing in the morning, but by evening the fit was looser and softer. That’s good news because they’re 100 percent cotton, which I love, love, love! and I expect they may shrink a bit during the laundry cycle. The recommended care is cold water wash on gentle cycle and air drying vs a machine dryer. I’ll abide by thos wash directions but frankly, I’m more likely to throw them in the dryer on low heat. As for sizing, I ordered these in a 30, which is a size 10 according to the online size chart (or a W 30 x L 31) by Levi’s norms. That worked fine for my height and weight. I’m a smidge over 150 lbs, and the length is ideal for my 5’ 8 ½” tall frame. The pant legs cover my ankles but don’t quite hit the floor, so they’re versatile for multiple activities and seasons. They look great with both my kick-around Skechers and my Italian platform sandals with a 2-inch heel. ... show more

I really wanted to love these jeans but the flare at the bell is too much. They fit okay everywhere else but they are more like bell bottoms! The pockets arent deep enough to hold anything but ChapStick either which stinks since most of my other Levi's have deep pockets. They are well made as are all their other jeans, they are soft, and sort of heavy so not summer jeans by any means. If they werent so flared at the bottom I might actually wear them. ... show more
