Most Levi's now come in both stretch and non-stretch variants. As you can see from the photo that is also true for the 541's. The stretch versions are clearly labeled with the word "STRETCH" in red print on the tag. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't see to appreciate this for every item. While some are marked stretch in the item description, others are not but should be. The Caraway Twill and Lake Merrit variants that I just purchased, are stretch, even though they are not labeled that way by Amazon. The Timberwolf/Cruz Twill are not stretch. I also purchased a pair of camouflage 541s from a different listing that were also not stretch. This might not be true for every person who buys these colors. It is the case that some colors and sizes come in both stretch and non-stretch. Good luck trying to get what you want from Amazon.

I went to my local dept store, tried on 5-6 types of levi's and found that the 541 series in a 34" waist was the perfect fit! So, I went on Amazon to choose from their great selection since my local store only offered one color. I did not even notice that there were so many blends of cotton. After receiving 2 more pairs of 541 in the exact size I had just purchased, I found neither fit. I then realized the cotton blend difference and I learned that with a 98% cotton 541, I'm a 34" waist, when it's a 100% cotton, I'm a 35" waist, when it's 83% cotton, I'm a 33". My personal taste is that anything less than 98% cotton is too stretchy and not the traditional Levi's that I've worn for 40 years. That's why my daughter says I wear "Dad Jeans". This series fits great on my waist, plenty of room in the seat, and I can fit my phone/keys in my pockets with plenty of comfort.

Really great pair of jeans! I am a big guy and usually buy my jeans anywhere from 50-52 in waist. I've been experimenting recently with levi's brand because they make the Athletic cut for big sizes now. And they are more form fitting and give less of that "trash baggy" look that comes with buying jeans as a big guy. I Love how they fit. You can always tell that they're big jeans- because at the end of the day, I'm still a big guy. But one interesting thing that I will note is that I decided to try to get a few sizes smaller to see if I could pull it off. I haven't lost weight or anything- I just ordered a 48 because with the Athletic cut jeans, no matter the brand, the cut makes it possible to actually wear/fit smaller sizes around your waist. Well I ordered a 48 and they fit amazing. But I dare say that I could even order a 46 to get a look where they me a tighter fit. As a guy who usually rocks 52 or 50, size 48 feels kind of loose. I like I need to tighten my belt. I know that they are a little on the expensive side. But if you can swing it, think of it as paying for quality and craftsmanship fitting. I am definitely going to order again and try for a size 46!

I have regular all denim levi's, and some with the elastane, but its only 1%. they do stretch out and stay that way, its not enough to give it some stretch, out, but not back in. I still like them, and have gotten use to it. but THESE have 28% of this lyocell?- and also 1% elastane, only 70% cotton. theyre horrible- read carefully, that lyocell stuff ruins these. ALSO, they have extra room in waist hips and Thighs!. the look is awful. heard the one "do these jeans make make ass look fat?". Well, These do. and overall theyre just loose everywhere. and they seem short. the waist is loose, theyre loose all the way down to mid-thigh, baggy at top, and tightening around like the knees and skinny jeans from there down. simply awful, just awful. I'm Ok with all your jeans even with elastane, but stay far away from these and anything with that 28% amount of that lyocell. for these to fit me-and I ordered same size all my other jeans-they would have to be one size Smaller waist, and one size inseam longer., then maybe, but wth they make the waist down to mid-thigh loose just gives them an awful look on you. try any other Levis, but dont get these.

These are great Jeans. Incredible quality, and fit the way I'd hoped. I've been wearing 550s the last decade or so. These 541s are similar, but different in many good ways. The material is thicker. Like the description states, they stretch a bit, so go 1 size lower than what you think you need; Good for us guys that refuse to buy larger waist sizes, no matter how big our belly gets. The zipper is slightly shorter than 550s, but much more rugged. The length for me, 32, is perfect. I usuallly got 32 length because the choice was 30 or 32, and 30 is usually a tad too short. These 541s are actually available in 37 waists. I've been wanting this forever, but like I said, because they stretch a bit, and seem slightly larger on the waists, I should have gotten a 36, but no harm, they still fit great. I also love that they have several colors other than traditional blue, and the different variations in appearance blow the other lines away in my opinion. Great pants.
