Most Levi's now come in both stretch and non-stretch variants. As you can see from the photo that is also true for the 541's. The stretch versions are clearly labeled with the word "STRETCH" in red print on the tag. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't see to appreciate this for every item. While some are marked stretch in the item description, others are not but should be. The Caraway Twill and Lake Merrit variants that I just purchased, are stretch, even though they are not labeled that way by Amazon. The Timberwolf/Cruz Twill are not stretch. I also purchased a pair of camouflage 541s from a different listing that were also not stretch. This might not be true for every person who buys these colors. It is the case that some colors and sizes come in both stretch and non-stretch. Good luck trying to get what you want from Amazon.

Really great pair of jeans! I am a big guy and usually buy my jeans anywhere from 50-52 in waist. I've been experimenting recently with levi's brand because they make the Athletic cut for big sizes now. And they are more form fitting and give less of that "trash baggy" look that comes with buying jeans as a big guy. I Love how they fit. You can always tell that they're big jeans- because at the end of the day, I'm still a big guy. But one interesting thing that I will note is that I decided to try to get a few sizes smaller to see if I could pull it off. I haven't lost weight or anything- I just ordered a 48 because with the Athletic cut jeans, no matter the brand, the cut makes it possible to actually wear/fit smaller sizes around your waist. Well I ordered a 48 and they fit amazing. But I dare say that I could even order a 46 to get a look where they me a tighter fit. As a guy who usually rocks 52 or 50, size 48 feels kind of loose. I like I need to tighten my belt. I know that they are a little on the expensive side. But if you can swing it, think of it as paying for quality and craftsmanship fitting. I am definitely going to order again and try for a size 46!

I have a more athletic build for my legs (normal butt, bit of a belly, larger thighs but smaller from knee down) and am a bit of a bigger guy (6'1", 320 lbs). So finding jeans that fit me is a constant challenge. Oh yes, and ones that would fit my waist and thighs but not look like greek columns all the way down to my feet. My calves and ankles are not the same size as my thighs. Why should the pant legs be of my jeans? These jeans fit great! They give enough room for my thighs and waist but taper down perfectly for my legs below my knees without looking like "skinny jeans". The fabric is solid denim with a slight stretch to it that comes in handy when you want to do odd things like bend down, sit, squat, move your knee or pretty much move in general. Comfortable and snug but not tight if that makes sense. The jeans fit great, are comfortable and were very reasonably priced. The waistband is a tad bit looser than I would like, but nothing a simple belt hasn't fixed. Hope they work as well for you as they have for me.

To their credit Levi's now has a number of big guy options. I have been wearing the relaxed fit for a while )in several brands) but have lost over 40 lbs this past year and needed a smaller, better fit. I am 6'3, 270 now, losing most in my waist and gut. I was skeptical I could wear anything in "Athletic" fit, but the 541 model fits well with less fabric in rear, thighs and a gently tapered leg that looks good with tennis shoes and boots. I ordered a 46 waist, which honestly is probably about 2" too big as this model, like most Levi's, sits at the natural waist, which even belted, tend to "slide" down with a lot of walking or moving about. I hate to constantly pull up my drawers. I wear cotton/woven boxers which help, but be careful if you prefer, tightly knitted undies. This is a mid to light weight fabric, has some stretch and a versatile wash color. These are good jeans, but I'm still looking for the perfect jeans.

the color and type is why i mark it down. its Gray!!! this looks nothing like the picture. especially when you buy the midnight navy stretch version which is navy blue and denim fabric. this pants type is Lower Gray with a softer jean fabric nothing like its related color as expected.

I'm a fat guy. Yeah, I should lose weight, but right now I'm fat. My weight has gone up and down most my life. Mostly up, to be honest. However, this review is about these excellent pants, and not my weight control issues. Most fat guy pants are the worst. They are typically very baggy, and wearing them makes you look like a 8-bit character from an old video game. I had resigned myself to taking pants to the tailor and having them fitted in the legs. Then I found these Levi Big and Tall 541 Jeans online. Woo baby these are fantastic! They are now my go to pair of pants. The material has a slight elasticity to accommodate my girthy middle. The pants have a close, but not too tight fit around the butt and legs. I highly recommend these for fat dudes everywhere. A little pricey perhaps, but my dude, trust me, they're worth it.

It's been a long time since I've bought Levi's, and the quality has gone through the floor. There are places where the stitching had already fallen apart when they were delivered and the material is very thin. Compared to the jeans I normally wear, these are pure trash - unfortunately, I'm tall and those lengths are no longer available in the other brand so I bought a few different brands to see which I will stick with - Levi's definitely won't be my new brand. It's actually shameful they would charge this much for such garbage. Anything to make a buck I suppose. These are even lower quality that something you would expect to find at a dollar store for ten bucks. They really are THAT bad. The only thing that I can't knock them on is fit, they are sized correctly.
