  • PERFECT jeans for the athletic body type.
I normally wait quite a bit to leave reviews on products but these jeans are just way too perfect to not spread the word. I train a lot and have so for the past 14 years. finding jeans that fit well and look nice has been the biggest hurdle ever. These 541 stretch jeans are the best I have ever had. After trying them on I purchased two more pairs. For reference, I am 6'3" 285 lbs. The 34 inseam in absolutely on point. If you're on the fence about these, buy them. For the price, you can not go wrong. ... show more

  • Different colors fit differently
I bought these pants in "The Rich - Stretch" and "Rigid Dragon - Stretch" colors, same size. I chose these two colors in part because they are listed as having the same blend of materials, which is confirmed by the tags on the pants as 99% cotton, 1% spandex (you'll notice looking through the descriptions that some of the "colors" of 541 on here have very different blends). So here I'm getting two "colors" of what should otherwise be the same pants - same 541 cut, same 31x30 size, same blend of materials. That is not what I got. "The Rich - Stretch" fit exactly as I was expecting - a comfortable amount of room in the seat and thigh but not loose fitting, tapered at the bottom of the leg so it sits well on running shoes (the reason I chose the 541 cut over others). "Rigid Dragon - Stretch" fits very differently. The waist and seat are so tight I can barely put the pants on, and the thigh is uncomfortably tight as well. The calf/ankle is also clearly tighter. Overall the Rigid Dragon fits more like a 511 than a 541 (I tried on various styles of Levi's jeans in a store, only didn't buy in store because they didn't have the 541 in my size in stock). I can squeeze into the Rigid Dragon 541s but I wouldn't choose to wear them. Very disappointing to see such a stark difference between two different "colors" of what should be the same pants. Levi's shouldn't be labeling both of them as 541 with such a significant difference in fit. I got two pairs of each and the sizing was consistent between each pair of the same color so I don't think it's just a defective pair. If I were comparing two 541s of different material blends I might expect different amounts of shrinkage from washing/drying, but considering that these two I chose were the same blend that shouldn't come into play. Overall I'm happy with The Rich but disappointed that the vastly different fit of Rigid Dragon means I won't be trying other "colors" of 541. ... show more

  • "Quality Levi's Jeans" is an Oxymoron Now
I wore Levi's all through childhood and college. I had noticed in the last few years the quality was getting lower. I was a little hessitatant to buy new jeans, but my other pair of light wash Levi's ripped on the knee so I wanted a new pair. Made this purchase and within 2 weeks of wearing them, the sewing on both front pockets has already come out and random bits of stitching are coming out on the pant legs even. I also noticed the material is thinner than my older pairs of Levis too which is a shame because I always liked that Levis would hold up for 3 or 4 years (I wear them almost daily) which was good for a pair of jeans. I hate to say it, but this was probably the last pair of Levi's I'm going to buy. The higher prices they charge for lower quality jeans isn't worth it anymore. ... show more

  • I Purchased My Last Pair of Levis
Fit Type: Regular Size: 36W x 32L Color: Indigo Black (Waterless)
After 35 years of brand loyalty, I have purchased my last pair of Levis. This review is for two pairs of exchanged jeans due to the first set’s inferior quality. I have included photos to back my claims, as I am aghast at what the Levis brand has become. Manufactured in Pakistan, both pairs are garbage: thin cotton, inconsistent measurements, cheap stitching, and colorization issues are the highlights. In the pictures, I’ve laid one pair over the other, and both are the same brand, model, and color. One can easily see that the second pair under the first if a full size larger in the waist and inseam. Also, the stitching and color is vastly different. Again, these are the same jeans made in the same part of the world. It’s outrageous to keep sending bad product back to Levis only to receive even worse product in exchange. Levis is no longer a premium brand. If you desire quality jeans, you must certainly look somewhere else. I am convinced due to observing Levis’ downfall over the last decade that this brand has no desire to turn back the clock and once again offer their customers a decent product. ... show more

  • You never know what you'll get, so I'm done with 527's
Fit Type: Regular Size: 32W x 32L Color: Overhaul
It seemed when I first started wearing 527's almost 15 years ago, it was a great jean - I could count on consistent sizing and they generally used quality fabric. Things have definitely changed over the years, as it seems they consistently use a VERY thin, cheap material for all their jeans, and the sizing is pretty random. After ordering a few different styles last year, I sent back the thin fabric jeans, but kept the thicker ones (the overhaul style) as they fit better and used a higher quality fabric. When I ordered the exact same jeans this year, the ones that arrived were not the same fit/fabric, but rather the same cheap, thin fabric as the different styles I sent back last year. Sadly, I can only offer two things: 1)For the price, you can surely find a better jean out there, 527's simply aren't worth it anymore. 2)If you decide to order ANY 527 styles, be prepared for a cheaply constructed jean that will potentially be a smaller than expected fit, unless you get lucky and randomly pick a style that uses better material that season. As for me, after over 20 years of predominantly choosing Levi jeans, regrettably I will no longer be a Levi's customer. No one should have to cross their fingers and hope that they receive a quality product, and after 3 years of experiencing inconsistent material and sizing, I'm done with the 527 line and Levi's as a whole. ... show more
