I also have several joint replacements and my orthopedic surgeon recommended certain types of shoes for balance, strength and flexibility. I love these shoes! They were a big surprise because they are an off brand and a decent price. The toe box is wide but the shoes fit my narrower feet perfectly. They have decent cushion and a small arch support. So I would describe them as a minor step up from a true barefoot shoe. Much less painful. I may just buy another pair. I bought these shoes after a time of searching and reading reviews. I work ten hour shifts on my feet on hard concrete floors and needed shoes that wouldn't continue to tear up my feet on the long commute home. I should have been more mindful of how barefoot shoes are designed. The zero drop is quite noticeable and does take a little time to get used to. That isn't why I'm giving only four stars... the reason I deducted one star is the innersoles have accupressure type nubbies that are somewhat irritating. I even tried wearing them on a day off, and they still made it uncomfortable to walk for long. The solution was easy enough. I just got a pair of thin, slip-in insoles, and that made a huge difference. Now I can walk as much as I like without discomfort. Based on another review for this color, I decided it was the right pair for me. The color is soft, subtle, and very nice. The fit is true to size. The material and quality of design are excellent. Many reviews here commented that the outer design isn't repeated on the inner side of the shoe. Honestly, that doesn't bother me. I'm not trotting around in designer shoes hoping everyone will notice them. The final positive point is how easy they are to slip on. Perfect after that long shift on hard floors where my joints don't like to cooperate the older I get. I don't have to spend time trying to get the back of the shoe in place like other sneakers and can go on my happy way. ... show more

Wow, these are so comfortable and they are true to size. I am a 10 in womens and these I purchased in a size 10. They fit perfectly. They are so light, so comfortable and they feel cushioned. I feel like im wearing slippers but with support. These are great. Will be purchasing in other colors. I did purchase these for my 12 year old who suffers a lot from ingrowns. I agree. The first pair I ordered were the best pair of shoes I have ever had, so cushiony which my very problem feet needed. But with all these glowing reviews, I wonder how many of you have ever ordered more than one pair. My first pair helped my poor feet so well. that I ordered more (3). I never once got two pair alike, EVER!! Not one of the extra pair were even CLOSE to being as cushiony or comfortable as the first pair. They were a TOTALLY different pair of shoes as far as fit and what is advertised. I was more than disappointed as I thought I had found a pair of shoes I could actually walk in with less pain. I was duped. My opinion, buy at your own risk. It is a gamble which shoe you will get. I am very sad that my experience ended this way. I adore these shoes and wear them more and more. I wanted comfortable, slip on sneakers for around the house and garden. These offer enough padding that I don't feel a gravel driveway but enough connection to the ground that i get a "barefoot walking" experience. They are wide enough that my foot with a bunion is comfortable while my narrower foot fits perfectly with no slip. No arch support to speak of. No sweaty feet. Extremely lightweight. I've only had them about a week so can't speak to durability. I got the gray. The toebox is wide, giving the overall look of a rounder shoe but that also meant I didn't have to order a half size up just to keep my toes from being squished. If you are looking for a comfortable kick-around shoe that is healthy for your feet, I think this is a fit. ... show more

I needed these to be wide and a bit loose, so the size works for me. If you like a more form fitting shoe, this isn’t for you. As for hands free? No, it is not hands free. The tongue of the shoe is not attached; the tongue and back of heel crumple as you insert your foot. They also are not a true barefoot shoe. The soles are rigid.
