Inside are 5 mini build modules featuring 12 Minecraft biomes, including the Taiga with a dripstone cave, Plains with a village, Ice Spikes with an igloo, Cherry Grove with an abandoned mineshaft, and the Deep Dark with a lush cave. 8 buildable Minecraft figures are also included: Steve, Alex, a skeleton, witch, Creeper, villager, cow and pig. The mini builds and microfigures detach from the main model to enable a variety of display possibilities. Build Challenge: The set has 1,195 pieces and involves intricate tiling (lots of 1x1 pieces) to create the pixelated effect. It's a fantastic way to develop focus and advanced building precision. Play and Display Value This is technically a "display set," but the modular nature makes it surprisingly good for play. The Look: The outer shell, designed to look exactly like the iconic Crafting Table, is brilliant and looks fantastic on a shelf—it’s a neat, self-contained cube. Hidden Worlds: The interior is the real star. It features five detachable micro-biomes (including the Deep Dark, Lush Cave, and Cherry Grove). This means the kids can take out the sections and rearrange them.     • An Excellent 18+ LEGO Set
This kit was a great value (as far as LEGO is concerned, at least), and putting this together was entertaining and only took a few hours. There were enough leftover stud figure pieces to build 3 or 4 extra characters, all the little biomes are recognizable, and most of them are interchangeable in case you want to change the setup. Also, the structure is stable enough that when I attach the top of the crafting table, I can rest a couple other desk decorations on top of it. My only complaint is that there aren't more of the stickers with sayings from the game. ... show more

My youngest is obsessed with minecraft. Summer camps, gaming time, the movie, books, he loves it all. This set was meant for much older children but he was laser focused and completed it with minimal help. Clear instructions like usual with LEGO and plenty of detailed pictures.
