My wife and I along with our younger kids built this set in a mere 1,077 minutes spending an average of 90 mins per day. The build follows the movie in chronological order and was fun to relive the moments during this time consuming but fun build. When purchased at the right time for the right price it's great value for the money and a centerpiece of our Christmas decor for decades to come. Pros: Step by step piece by piece instructions made assembly a breeze with our 12 year old doing alot of the work. Also, a few extra lego pieces and came with a lego remover! Cons: some of the bags for each step had little bags so that further delayed organizing the pieces for assembly. Main con was that we didn't get this sooner! If you love the Home Alone movie then this a great buy and you should just add to cart! ... show more

Loved making this set - the details are amazing and it was easy directions to follow and each of the bags were # for the different floors. This made it possibly for me to work on one floor and my husband to work on a separate floor - it was like four individual Lego sets in one! The light install, we found to be very difficult. The house was complete when we did the install, but you had to take apart a lot of Legos to hid the wires properly on each floor. Maybe it would be better to install the lights as you build, but the light kit didn’t suggest it and the light instructions were, at times, difficult to understand. But, it was well worth the difficulty! ... show more
