When my local stores quit carrying this product I turned to Amazon. I've used Lectric Shave for decades. First for getting a smooth shave with an electric razor and then I discovered it worked very well if I used this on my skin before I used shave cream. Makes the shave even smoother and surprise - my razor blades last 3 or 4 times longer. I think it has a silicone oil in it that coats the steel keeping regular razor blades sharper longer. Anyway, now I have a supply and don't have to worry about burning gas as I run to several stores looking for Lectric Shave. Good product too, I do not want to use the store brands of this.

Well, I will say I love the after smell of this product, and it leaves my skin feeling smooth. However... when I put it on my skin (my dad said he had a similar issue), my nostrils and eyes burned for a second or two. I didn't even place it near my nose or eyes, which is very odd... but it does the job and it works. I'm almost worried... what causes this?! Is it safe?? I'm very skeptical. Fact is though, it WORKS, and for that, I'm giving it a 4/5. If later the product is deemed unsafe, then it will hopefully be removed. Until then, this is my honest review of the product and it's working use/function.

The only thing I've found better than this is edge gel if you have a razor that can wet shave. However, I use this mostly because it's less messy than cream and does a very good job at reducing irritation and providing a closer shave than dry. I also like this better than the Remington chalk stick since that stuff is so messy. The chalk stuff is a nice shave, but it makes nearly as much mess as the shave cream, imho.

For me , not a good experience, it smelled of Kerosene ( at least on my face ) and frankly it didn't do much in the way of setting up my beard. Also I could not seem to wash the smell off. Lastly slightly disturbing is the warning on the label urging caution because the product can be flammable until it dries. Granted I've yet to hear of anyone igniting themselves with Lectric shave , but Geez

The razor I bought suggested a lubricating pre-shave product like Lectric Shave, so I bought it. After shaving with and without the pre-shave lubricant I decided to only use it for special occasions when I need a very close shave. I normally use an after shave scent, but it clashes with the residual Lectric Shave scent. So I have to wash my face after shaving. So along with the time to apply the pre-shave, the extra time is not worth the closer shave most of the time. Normal, dry-shaving provides a sufficiently good shave most of the time. I also think that dry shaving makes the razor easier to clean. The lubricant stays in the razor, trapping bits of whisker shaving residue that would otherwise rinse or blow out.

I recently had surgery and am taking a blood thinner. I have always used a blade razor, but the doctor told me to buy an electric razor to avoid cutting myself. My son had used Lectric Shave and suggested I try it. Since I was physically unable to go purchase it, I ordered from Amazon. The product arrived quickly - that's good because I had about a week's growth of beard. Lectric Shave met all the product claims, soothing, makes the beard stand out, etc. I got a great shave and may even stick with the electric razor. If I do I will certainly continue to use Lectric Shave!

Williams Lectirc Shave is a great product that has served men's electric shaving needs for several decades! BUT DON'T buy it here! WHY? I didn't pay close enough attention to the prices vs weight and when it arrived I was really angry! This is the 3 ounce travel bottle that you can sometimes find in you local drug store for about $2.50, NOT $5.62!!! For $5.48 - $5.85 you can buy the 7 ounce bottle at every drugstore in your town or on line at CVS.com or Drugstore.com or any other online national drug store chain. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF BY THIS SELLER!! YOU ARE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU GET! THE PRICE SHOULD BE FOR THE 7 OUNCE BOTTLE AND NOT THE 3 OUNCE BOTTLE. RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been sing a use a Braun Series 7 790cc-4 Electric Foil Shaver for the last year or so. I do run hot tap water over the shaver head and the part of the shaver that the head to which the head attaches, each time I shave, and I have not had any issues at all with clogging. For the last 40 years or so I have shaved dry, using a Norelco, with no issues. However with the new Braun, dry shaving resulted in reduction of lubrication of the blades on the shaver head and I had to replace the shaving head within 6 months. I also was also getting a less than optimum shave. I used WL Shave when I was young, so it was the first thing I thought of as a possible solution to my current shaving issues. The smell is OK, but not great: That is, I am an elderly man (according to my wife and the fellow looking back at me in the mirror), and now I smell like I did when I was 18 (now that I write this...this may not be such a good thing....). It does seem to result in a closer shave, and it appears to help the longevity of the blade/shaving head. I may try something else, but only because I would not mind a different smell. I am going to try this with a non electric safety razor, perhaps as a precursor to applying a shaving cream, to see if it helps to get a closer shave. Just have not done it yet.
