This roll is a true white and does have a texture that looks like leather. I just applied it to one of our office chairs and it looks "okay", but I think it could have looked a lot better if I'd planned ahead. I outline those changes below. One roll was used up covering one office chair with a seamless back and seat. I had maybe 5" leftover. What I would do differently: Use an extremely sharp pair of scissors, otherwise you get jagged cuts which don't look nice. Measure your chair in sections. You want to use as few "pieces" of leather as possible, so it looks seamless. Then with pencil measure & cut the pieces needed. You will need to allot cutouts for chair arms or other parts that are not part of the seat youre covering. Cut these out smoothly before. Lay everything out. Peel off entire backing of biggest piece. The backing peel will want to peel into little pieces, not big areas, which is annoying. Try to avoid that. Also some people said to only peel backing off as you need it, but I did not find that feasible. Get the whole backing off and be careful how you hold it. Press down in desired area. Smooth it out with your hands. Life up certain areas that need more smoothing and you can re-stick it. Then work from top down with your other pieces; lay them down before unpeeling to make sure it's a good fit, and all the cutouts are accurate. Then repeat process. Before you begin, do look at the back of your chair, and the bottom of your chair if you care how that will look with the excess leather. If you do, you will need to make more special cut outs for chair parts. I can't tell yet if the adhesive is good or not, but right now it feels solid. It's a better solution than buying a new chair, but only if you take the time to do it right. $20 is a little steep for one chair. I think $9.99/ea would be a better price, then you could do 2 chairs. Good luck!

I had an office chair that most of “leather” was peeled away, exposing 90% the fabric. It had been outdoors in the rain quite awhile and in the baking sun so it was VERY bad. But the frame was good and I just can’t throw things into landfills if it’s savable. My husband argued to finally just throw it out, but I had to try. (You’d think I lived during The Great Depression, but I just like a challenge) So I bought a lighter shade, and began to recover the entire chair. In less than an hour the chair was not only usable, it looked great! Sure, you can see my not-so-good handiwork on the seams and edges, but it’s good enough to put back in the house in the kids room for his gaming or for a spare seat at a party. It’s not perfect but that’s my lack of recovering skills. The product looks great! It sticks to bare fabric and is easy to apply. The backing comes off nicely (don’t let it stick to itself!) and it doesn’t wrinkle. Makes a huge difference!

Look, it is an adhesive overlay for a fake leather chair, so don't expect a miracle. I was happy with what I got. I cut a section to stick over the worn out part of my chair seat and stuck it down. The chair looks better and it has stayed stuck for 8 weeks now. I got a lot of material, enough to cover the entire seat and not just the section I choose. The worn out fake leather on my office chair looked real bad. The chair cost $300 and was otherwise in good condition. I wanted to disguise or reduce how bad it looked and this product worked for that purpose. The chair does NOT look like new, and never will. If that is your expectation, I would say you are being unrealistic. If you look at the chair you will see that it has a recovered section. However, your eye is not drawn to the chair when you walk into the room and it is no longer flaking off fake leather onto my pants.
