  • For the price, this is alright.
Color: Silver Nickel
The media could not be loaded. I bought this when I was just wanting to decide whether to get back into playing again. My ex husband pawned my good flute for cigarette money some 18 years before, when I was fresh out of high school, and I hadn't played since. This flute reminded me how much I truly loved playing and though I've since upgraded - nothing fancy, just an intermediate eastman for Christmas last year and a slightly nicer Jupiter I happened upon at a pawn shop, I'm not made of money, though I dream about that Sankyo model 301 every day - this holds its own for someone who is on a tight budget but really wants to play. It really doesn't take a lot of air to play effectively like some other cheap flutes and the mechanism isn't terribly clunky or stiff, and though the tone is a little flatter than either my Eastman or my Jupiter, it sounds fine enough. I don't find I have to compensate too much for leaky keys. This is a decent value for the price if you or your kid want to play but your budget leaves a rental or the purchase of a more recommended brand out of reach. ... show more

  • Great flute
Color: SEA BLUE/SILVER Keys
I just got my Lazaro seablue flute It is really beautiful love the tone it has on low and high pitch. Very quick response you don't have to blow very hard to get a great tone. It also has a good weight to it not to light which is good less chance of loosing your grip on it...this flute is well worth the money .. definitely recommended.. ... show more

  • Very nice for such a low price!
Color: HOT PINK/SILVER Keys
I purchased this flute after a rather long break from playing. I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to pick it back up or just had an itch I needed to scratch, so I bought this to gauge how serious I actually was. My expectations were pretty low considering the price, but the promo video of the guy playing convinced me that this would at least be somewhat playable and it would be possible to make it sound pretty. That’s really all I needed to know at the time. I was right to believe in that video. Holding it in my hands for the first time, this flute felt very similar to my old nickel Yamaha from high school, not like the ultra-cheap garbage that I was half expecting. The keys are springy, smooth, and responsive. For the most part (an exception listed below), it’ll play as well as the player is capable. There are a few cost-cutting/blah things about it. Such as: -Some of the screws aren’t quite as concealed as they are on a more expensive instrument. This is purely a cosmetic concern. -Some commonly-cork pieces (pads on trill keys, etc.) have been replaced by something between plastic and rubber. The bottoms of these pads have already started turning whiter, like stressed and dried rubber. They seem like they may crack and disintegrate eventually, but that much is purely speculative. They do fine right now. -The paint job (I got pink) has its tactile flaws, but looks very lovely! As someone who works in the paint industry, it’s probably more annoying to me than it would be to most others. For the sake of my sanity, I’m calling the moderately bumpy feel “an improved grip”. -I’ve found that my C# plays a bit airier than most others and sounds kind of dead. This is the only note I’ve found to be problematic at all. At least it plays the correct note. -The case is not very well-made. It seemed surprisingly nice at first, but it’s a little too cramped in there. The G# key hits the head joint and scratches it regularly. New scratches literally every time I opened the case. I recommend wrapping the head joint in the included cloth to prevent this. But as I mentioned, this flute was largely just a test drive for me, and I am really quite shocked at how nice it sounds for what I paid. It will never be a 5-star flute that makes me say, “Oh my god, every professional flute player should have one,” but it does sort of feel like they’ve worked miracles to pump these out for around $100 each. I wish I could give it 4 and a half stars. I’d recommend this to anyone who finds themselves feeling unsure like I was, anyone who wants to give their kids a chance at an instrument without investing tons of money on something nicer first, or anyone who just wants a brightly-colored, fun-looking instrument to add to their arsenal. Why should electric guitarists have all of the fun in that department? While I’ve only had this for a couple weeks and am already window shopping for a more serious and more permanent flute, it is only because I’ve proven to myself that I really do want to play more. I can still see myself picking up a couple of these colors just for the heck of it. ... show more

  • Good sound, basic flute, well fitted
I want to first say I am neither a teacher nor a professional flute player but played flute in school, competition and band settings til I got married. This is my 4th flute, my first was a Yamaha semiprofessional flute that I used since I was 7. I have had other German flutes but could tell the quality was student beginner from the sound alone. Due to several overseas moves I don't have any of these anymore. I do have a natural gift of sound so hear the fine differences. I am very pleased with this flute. It has a very good sound though would not say it compares to the $7000 and up models, but for someone who is not a professional or wants a flute to use in either situations where they don't want to use their expensive flute or just to practice, this is a good option. It has both good timber and pitch. It has a nice balanced weight in my hands. It fits together very tightly, it definitely needs a wipe down especially the joints so that you can fit it together, be sure to do it straight. Also keep the plastic caps for the joints on when not in use, as this will keep your joints from getting dinged or getting minute/microscopic spurs. I read and listened to tons of reviews both on Amazon and on YouTube. I decided to take a chance on this one based on the sound in such reviews. Another factor for me was that it has a hard case, since I travel alot this was a must. My it sure does seem smaller than my hard case when I was 7. I had soft cases in between and am just not fond of them as a source of protection. I like the fact that the cleaning rod has its own place and won't slip out and scratch your flute. ... show more
