You can't go wrong with this product. Beautiful gift idea, The value is incredible. I purchased a set for me, I am 65 years old and another set for my 34 year old beautiful daughter. I was concerned that the colors would be too harsh but the colors are soft and even the most glittery ones are not too intense for day wear. I am more than 100% pleased. Several palettes for under $40 on Amazon is a great deal. I snapped them up. I like many of the base (pale) eyeshadow shades and the blush shades. Some of the coppery colors will work nicely for me, too. The eyeshadows are all pretty universal although there were no gray, black, purple, or true navy shades. There were several brown, beige, ivory, rust, and copper shades. There was one intense blue that is more night than navy, but will look good with copper/bronze from one of the palettes. I absolutely love these pallets. They are beautiful colors and great quality. They have everything. Minus foundation, mascara and lip color. The pigment is perfect for me and I would think for anyone that likes a more natural day and evening look. You can honestly make it as light or dramatic as you prefer. I was really excited to try these, 4 palettes for $39! However, when I received them I was very disappointed that none of the blushes were pigmented enough or a good color. No matter how much I brushed onto my cheeks, you could barely see any color. Maybe my skin tone is darker (olive-y) but I was surprised this was one of Oprah's favorites because her skin is dark, so I figured these colors would definitely work for me too. They are all very peachy/orange and VERY light. I ended up giving these away to my teen/pre-teen daughters because they're lightly pigmented enough for them. If you're looking for a more pigmented, neutral colored make-up, look elsewhere. The darker eyeshadows are okay, all the light colored make up is a waste of money. Save your money! ... show more

The 4 pallets offer choices for all occasions. There are some mattes and some sparkles, some light and some dark. I so appreciate the combinations complimenting one another. Well worth the money.
