An adorable paint-by-numbers kit that is easy to follow, all the paint colors are clearly labeled and the painting is lined and numbered so that you can paint each area the color that is listed. For best results use your brushes or pick a nice setup from the craft store that has different widths and tips for finer detailing but the set includes 3 which are basic enough to get the job done but advanced artists may want a few more. There is enough paint to get the whole piece done, within a decent amount of time frame but leaving the pans open while you paint will dry them out quicker. It is best to work with one color at a time and let that color dry between applications and flooding the whole section thick enough to make the numbers disappear and the lines blend in so it will look like a finished piece of art when you are done. There are a set of screws and hanging brackets to be installed on a wooden frame if you choose to have it framed or create your frame for it. The frame is not included. If you know someone into woodwork they may be able to help you out, or you can take it into the craft store and have them make you one. Or ask local artists in your area. A mushroom paint-by-numbers kit is great to give as a gift (you can buy special brushes to add on for a bonus gift) or paint it and give it as a gift and finish the way you like for hanging. Or keep it for yourself because you enjoy majestic pictures and bright colors, they might even glow under black light. Gives me Alice in Wonderland vibes or storybook vibes. The only thing you need, that you have on hand is a cup or can of water to clean the brushes and a rag or paper towel to wipe the brushes off. I ordered this for my mom who does painting and puzzles to keep her mind sharp. Unfortunately, I gave it to her before I remembered to get photos of it but I can tell you that it looks pretty good. This is definitely for adults, but a sharp kid could do it just as easily as long as they have the patience. This is actually a very large painting so have a space for it because given the size and detail level this may take you a while to complete. I’m looking forward to starting this painting, but I need to iron the canvas first. This is a big disappointment because I despise ironing. I appreciate that the package included a paper version of the paint by number picture that you can use as a reference. I hate when I need to add another layer in some spots but can’t figure out exactly which shade to use. I lol’d that this kit includes hanging supplies but no frame. Feels wasteful. I keep these around for to have on hand when I'm bored. This kit comes with everything you need. All you have to do is uncrease/iron the canvas and you're ready to start. The pain covers well and goes on smooth. It comes with a variety of brushes. And so far, it's been a ton of fun. It's going to be a beautiful picture once it's done. ... show more

This piece is absolutely gorgeous! The colors...WOW! I'm both excited and nervous to start this one. Just from first look, I think this one might be better for someone that has a little experience, as opposed to a beginner. The kit is complete with the canvas, guiding picture, paints, 3 brushes, and hooks for hanging the completed item. In order to offer these kits at such great prices, you don't get the best brushes, although they aren't bad, but for this one you might be better off using a higher quality set of brushes for the detail work. I use my own brushes that I purchased on sale from Amazon. I would also recommend ironing out any substantial folds in your canvas before beginning. This is just a gorgeous image. I really hope the final product is as impressive and I can keep this at 5 stars! ... show more

    • Nice image but on a folded canvas.
I love the image itself and the color palate is appropriate for the ship and sea in my opinion. The only thing I don't like is that the canvas is folded and the creases need to be ironed. The delicate balance of ironing a canvas without making the crease worse is not my specialty and it brings the joy of painting this down a step for me. If you have a technique for perfect canvas ironing then do not hesitate to get this, it is really a cool ship at sea image! ... show more
