  • Order 1 to 1.5 sizes smaller than your "comfortable" street shoe!
Just received them and I felt compelled to write a review as I think the biggest question everyone has is: what size should I order? As you've probably read, climbing shoes should fit pretty snugly, and it's pretty well known that these will stretch about a half size. That said, I wear a USA Men's size 10.5 in Under Armour shoes, 11 in Nike's/Most other brands - these are all my street shoes. In Saucony running shoes, I wear a size 11. I ordered a size 42.5 (or USA Men's 9.5) after hearing that these ran big. I'm REALLY glad I did! I literally don't own anything smaller than a 10.5 as my foot wouldn't fit in it, and these 9.5's are just a HAIR too big still! Truthfully, I probably should have gone down to a 9. That said - I think these will do the job, and they do fit snugly, but there's just a tiny bit of wiggle room in the heel, almost not noticeable. My only concern is that if they stretch they may be a little too large..but the good news is, I like shoes, so that'll just give me excuse to step up to a more aggressive shoe - assuming my skills have increased by then too. As far as quality, I'm a new climber, but La Sportiva is pretty well known to make a good product, so I can attest that the shoes are really made quite well and you will not be disappointed. Bottom line: Order 1 size smaller, and even then, be prepared to return them to get the right size shoe. Many people recommended visiting an REI to try them in the store, but my closest REI is 2 hours, so I winged it. Either way, you'll be happy with this shoe. ... show more

  • Great starter shoe
Size: 4.5 Color: Kiwi/Grey
These fit great for my first pair of climbing shoes. Women's shoes are too narrow for my Hobbit-y feet, which is a problem since they're also short. Normally wear a 6.5 US women's in street shoes, 7 US women's for running shoes. After reading many reviews (so expected them to run big) I ordered them two sizes down from my street shoe size (35.5.EU) and had to exchange for a half size up. I now have these Tarantula's in 36 EU and had to stretch them a bit (stuffed with lots of socks and heated with hair dryer. Now they're breaking in nicely after a couple of gym sessions; toes are all the way to the end and my big toe on my left shoe has a slight bend but nothing crazy. I love the velcro for ease of adjustment, especially after a couple hours in and needing to easily take 'em off to give my feet a break. For the price they seem like great shoes to start! If you're a woman having a hard time finding a good shoe for the width of your feet check out the men's shoes; that definitely solved my problem. ... show more

  • Was hoping for better
So, for $95 I knew I was not purchasing the upper echelon of climbing shoe. But, I was hoping that they would last longer than two months. I climb at a local gym 2-3 times a week. The sole rubber is peeling away from the rest of the shoe, as well as, the sole rubber is very thin on the ball of the foot. Otherwise, they fit perfectly. ... show more

  • Fit me perfectly
I was recommended these shoes by a friend, but was hesitant to buy because of the price. I've never bought climbing shoes before, let alone in European sizing, but after cross-referencing many reviews and looking at sizing charts online, I decided to take the plunge. Shoes came as expected and fit perfectly. Mind you, these aren't a super aggressive climbing shoe, which I like as a beginner, but definitely made all the difference and worked amazing right off the bat. I have kind of wide feet, but despite that these fit snug and not too tight. I'll probably be buying another pair of these in the near future. ... show more

  • Run small
Size: 5 Color: Kiwi/Grey
These shoes are great! They run about 1 to 1.5 small. I didn’t see other reviews about this and wanted to help the next shoppers out.

  • Starter to medium shoes, positive for Morton’s foot.
Size: 13 Color: Green/Grey
I really liked these shoes. It took me two purchases to find the correct size, but finally got it. I felt like they are amazing for indoor climbing, but not great for outdoor. They heals strong as I learned how to climb, but the one, first time I climbed outdoors, you could tell how soft they were. Also an amazing shoe for those dealing with Morton’s foot. ... show more

  • Good starter shoe
My first pair of climbing shoes and I've used them a couple times. I've worn high quality Evolve shoes before that were much more tacky and rigid. These are great for a new climber in a gym, I don't know how long they would last on a natural rock wall.

  • Great shoe! I wear a size 7 street shoe ...
Size: 4.5-5 Color: Kiwi/Grey
Great shoe! I wear a size 7 street shoe and I ordered 36.5 europe or 4.5 US. I don't think it translates correctly on the size chart provided on amazon. They fit great, very snug which is exactly what I need. I have the right amount of toe curl for climbing. Im a beginner to intermediate climber. I can't usually wear the shoes longer than just on the route I climb. The straps allow quick and easy on/off and ability to tighten shoes wonderfully. I like the color but a little more dull than I expected them to be. The rubber is fantastic and I feel very comfortable on small foot holds. ... show more
