I purchased these for a cruise that would require wet landings for expeditions getting on and off the ship. They fit nice. The sizing was perfect. They dried quickly and I never had any issues with blisters as many of my cruise mates experienced. I was very pleasantly surprised how nice they were for hiking. I truly expected to have aching feet at the end of the day as we walked in the desert for 3 miles. I walked over large and small rocks and never had any pinching. I loved that I could grip with my toes like I was barefoot! I commented to another how nice the barefoot feeling was and that It wasn't giving me problems with my plantar fasciitis. I usually wear Columbia hiking shoes at home but I needed something for water, sand and hiking so I got these with my fingers crossed and boy was I delighted with this purchase. I plan to wear these hiking at home to see if I was delusional but hoping not! great buy! will buy again in other colors if they perform the same hiking here at home. These are my favorite. The best thing that’s happened to my toes, there is actually enough room and I believe that these shoes will allow the bunion I have to release and restructure into a healthy food! Very comfortable. Good shoe for boys or girls. Cool colors and fit nicely. Durable on the sand at the beach or on the pavement for a quick hike. They don't rub my heel even after being in the water with them. Lightweight too.

These are the best shoes I've ever owned. I purchased these for my trip to Hawaii, and they exceeded my expectations. They are so comfortable and require no breaking in. I wore them on strenuous beach hikes and on an 8 mile hike through a volcano crater and my feet never felt better. I wore them with waterproof socks and the combination was a blessing. They provide all the support and comfort I could've wanted. I highly recommend these for all outdoor activities. These are much more comfortable than hiking boots and they are easy to move around in. I love barefoot and minimalist shoes. I own several types and brands. I cannot afford to pay full price for some of my favorites and many reviewers suggested these shoes were a reasonable substitute for saving money and still getting the minimalist benefits. One review suggested removing the insole to achieve a similar ground feel. This did not work for me at all. The sole of the shoe is lined with a rough mesh that is very uncomfortable when I run. So I tried using the included insole. That did keep the abrasive feeling mesh away but the feel of the shoe was still “off” somehow. It was as if my foot against the pavement hit the ground harder. The soles are soft and flexible so the reason for this is a mystery for sure. Maybe they are so soft that it removes all the “rubber” layer I am used to in other brands? The second issue I had was with the laces. They use elastic laces with the lace locks. In order to get the shoes tight enough, I had way too much extra laces waving around my foot. I also had a difficult time adjusting the tightness in the right areas of my foot. In the pictures you’ll notice that I switched to a regular shoe lace and that seemed to help. The final issue is noticeable in the side view picture. The heel of the shoe fits like a hospital slipper. It gives the shoe the feeling of being too big and just right at the same time. Maybe I should have tried a smaller size? But my toe is almost at the end of the shoe. The overall result of these three points is that, even when I’m only walking in them, my shins and heels begin to hurt. I made every adjustment I could to try and make them more comfortable for my purpose. Maybe they are an excellent water shoe, but do not believe they are a reasonable stand-in for a minimalist running shoe. ... show more
