First of all, I’ve never worked anywhere that used dissolvable labels. I’ve heard stories about “we USED to have them, but..,”. Anyway, if you’ve ever worked in a kitchen, you know that everything has to be dated, because prepared food is only good in the fridge for 7 days (your local health department regulations may vary). Frozen foods lasts much longer, but even in the freezer, you still should be practicing FIFO (first in, first out). So how do you do that in the home? You could use a sharpie to label and date your containers. Now, if you are serious about your food prep, your containers should be some standard cup, pint, and quart sized deli containers….which are available on Amazon, of course. I think they are more durable, and cheaper than the brands that rhyme with “Vlad” and “Jiplock”. But whichever containers you have, you should consider using labels. You’ll feel like a pro, and impress any guests that happen to see your meals/prep equipped with these labels. Especially when you tell them that they dissolve by rinsing, or dishwasher. And if you use a whole roll of 500 in one year (or even 2) in the home, I would be very surprised. ... show more

I use these all the time to label my leftovers. Get the label wet in the sink and then throw it in the dishwasher and it'll come off with no problems, even on plastic containers
