I complete agree with the person who commented that it comes with no directions on how to hold/use it. I’ve taken it outside to try a number of times, throw it on the ground every time and come back in frustrated. Ridiculous.

The handle isn't long enough and I'm only 5'6"! Because the handle is too short, you have to bend WAY over to use it. I agree with a previous reviewer, the concept is brilliant, but there needs to be improvements. First, the handle should be longer and second, the angle of the blade needs modifying. You're really needing to drag that along at about a 45º angle and that is very quickly, quite uncomfortable, especially if you have any back issues! This is definitely more for "touching up" your edges, not starting from scratch...big disappointment. ... show more

I thought this might end up gimic-y but I'm pleasantly surprised. Major con is the length of the handle. I'm 6'2" and I really have to bend over to use. Minor con is the size of the blade, it'd be perfect if it was 1 to 1.5 inches longer in each direction. I've found it best to cut the edge with a power stick edger, then trace that with the kwik edger. It's also really good at cleaning out any 90 degree angle between say a walkway and stone edging or a driveway and stone edging. The tool is exceptional in concept and is usable in execution. However, the angle of the handle is too extreme; it needs to be more upright, and while is says the handle is "long", it needs to be a foot longer, and to a lesser concern, it would be nice to have a bigger diameter handle since I imagine most people work with this in gardening gloves. The kick out on the back side of the tool needs to be longer and angled so that it can clean out the edge. I find myself scooping out the edge after every couple feet. It just does not push the debris far enough up into the bed. I understand that the focus of the tool is to keep the cut edge clean, and not so concerned about the debris being trimmed. With that said, it could do both if the sweep was longer and wasn't a vertical edge, but rather an angle towards the bed. However, my greatest wish was that the tool just had more heft. It is too light weight. I wish there was on about 2 inches taller in the front cutting edge, and about triple the weight so that I would be more like dragging a plow versus the work I have to put in to cut the edge and that is even after forming the edge with a shovel. They have a great idea and tool, but it could be a game changer. I have all kinds of garden tools over the years and only 2 have been my favorites. 1. Is my hand tiller that I had purchased for $4 dollars just to see if would worked. I can loosen and mix the soil down to 5 1/2" inch with only my energy only and great exerciser to add to it. 2. Kwik Edge Tool by far is the most time savings edging tool I have ever used. If you have ALREADY well cultivated soil, this will do a good job of turning it back away from the edge you want to keep. It will also do an adequate job of cleaning up the edge of any soil or sod at the border. It will NOT cultivate compacted soil or cut existing sod without significant effort. It also doesn't handle corners well, but it will get close enough to the corner that finishing the corner with a hori-hori or garden spade will not be a big deal. It also only works one way, with the garden soil to be turned on your right and the sod or other area to your left, so if you have any obstacles or walls to contend with, you will not be able to reverse it and turn around to work the other direction. So, if you don't mind a uni-tasking tool in your shed and are looking for something to easily turn soil and clean up the edge of an already established garden border or row in already well cultivated soil, this is a great tool for doing that quickly and easily. It will get the job done neatly, evenly, and MUCH faster than you could do it with a spade or shovel. ... show more
