I bought this basketball to improve my sons dribbling and shooting skills. I was looking for a heavy ball that would feel like a regular ball in terms of size and bounce. This ball met my expectations and more. It is made of composite leather that feels soft and grippy. It has a good bounce and a nice sound when it hits the rim. It weighs 3lbs, which is about twice as heavy as a regular ball. The ball is great for training your muscles and developing your strength, speed, and accuracy. I use it for drills, practice, and warm-ups. It makes him work harder and sweat more. I can feel the difference when I switch to a regular ball. The ball feels like it is well made, the material feels good to the touch. It's definitely strange to handle such a heavy ball and when you are done working it out a regulation ball feels like nothing. I bought this to make dribbling more of a workout and to work on strength at that skill.

Love the ball works as you'd want a weighted ball to work. Obviously do not shoot with this ball in fear of damaging rims or hitting someone not expecting a 3lb ball to fall on their head. Good muscle trainer for handles. Only gripe I have with this ball is that it will kinda sand your hand as you dribble. It is not really its fault because it is made for outdoor/indoor use. I think if it was weighted normally it would be fine but because of the extra weight your fingers have to catch that extra weight resulting in it sanding your fingers a bit. It is just the nature of this ball or any weighted ball in general. Not saying it will peel your fingers or anything but you will feel that extra "sand paper" effect or dry hands after awhile ... show more
