KUPILKA products are made from Kareline Natural Fibre Composite material. The biomaterial consists of 50% pine fibre (wood) and 50% thermoplastic. All KUPILKA products are dishwasher safe.To ensure the longevity of the dishes, we do not recommend putting them in the microwave, stove or open fire. At the end of their life span, the products can be recycled, incinerated for heat energy or returned to the manufacturer for re-use. The Kupilka packaging is made from recycled cardboard.

UPDATED: Kupilka items are lightweight and nonbreakable for hiking and camping, plus they're cute as the dickens. But it's important to know that the material they are made of is POROUS and will ABSORB OIL. I used my small platter for my breakfast of fried eggs over a period of weeks, and now the oil never really comes off/out. Even after I've washed and dried the plate, and it has sat in the cupboard for months, I can still feel the oil and even see the oily residue on my hands after I handle it. Had I realized this beforehand, I would not have used it for a dish with oil. It is fine for sandwiches, chips, and other stuff one might eat on the trail. Love my Kupilka products. They're super cool-looking and the plates don't make your food cold (like when you put hot eggs on a ceramic plate). This is the second small plate I've ordered because I really like the first one I got. This size will probably be too small for those who really like to fill a plate or who have big appetites, but it's a good size for me, and it's lightweight in my day pack. ... show more

Yup. Ya, sure. It's small! Itty bitty even. And it's GREAT. I have lots of Kupilka and this piece has a place in my day bag for cutting delicious picnic morsels and such. I bought these smaller platters (one in every color) for desserts. We use them as essentially s'mores plates. I appreciate how you can easily grab the plate, thanks to the handle, and they're super light. These platters are durable, but not immune to scratches.
