  • a good budget-friendly monitor
Size: 32 inch Style: Curved HVA QHD 180Hz 1ms Color: black
I bought this during a pre-Black Friday sale: an Amazon "Lightening Deal" combined with a KTC coupon that dropped the price well below $200. So, my positive response to the H32S17 is partly based on the big discount I got for my purchase. The monitor is the advertised 32 inch width. The bezels are very small, about 2 mm; however, the panel has a small, black border, which is never utilized. So the border around the display area extends another 5 mm around the left, right, and top. So, the max viewing area, measured by the diagonal corners is 31.5 inches. The build quality is solid plastic for the monitor, and the monitor base does use metal. I can't speak to the amount of adjustment the monitor has on its base since I have mine on a 3rd-party VESA mount. The 1500R curvature is very gentle. I use the monitor up close and viewing content from a distance up to 10 feet away, and the curvature isn't annoying. Be aware, since the panel is a VA, the viewing angles aren't as wide as with an IPS or OLED panel. But there is some viewing angle, especially if you are viewing content from a bigger distance. You don't need to be directly dead center in front of the monitor to get a good viewing experience. The out-of-the-box calibration of H32S17 is not good. You will have to adjust such things like the color hue, saturation, gamma, brightness, and contrast to fit your environment. Some have complained that VA panels aren't very bright. I'm happy with the brightness of this monitor. I never have the brightness maxed out, and I often lower it to 85 - 75% depending on what I'm watching and how dark my office is at any given time. When I finally got it adjusted, the display is vibrant with good color saturation and deep blacks. This wasn't clear when I researched the monitor, so I will confirm that the H32S17 has an overdrive mode that has 4 different speeds. I currently have it on the highest speed, but all the levels do influence the gray-to-gray response times differently. So, this monitor, like any VA, will have some black smearing, but the overdrive, plus the high refresh rate, will mitigate it some. I'm satisfied with the low level of smearing, but I don't play high-level FPS games where smearing would cause problems. I do use the monitor for productivity. Text clarity is very good, whether reading black text on white backgrounds or white text on black backgrounds. I was a little concerned about that when I bought the monitor, but it has exceeded my expectations in this aspect. If you have a decent PC and GPU that can push high frame rates, I recommend connecting the monitor to your GPU with the display port. With a DP connection, the monitor provides a stable 180 frames, which is even higher than the advertised 165-170 hz. I'm extremely happy with that. Overall, this is a budget-friendly monitor that is good for multiple purposes (viewing content, casual gaming, and productivity). It won't compare to the best IPS and OLED monitors, but, for what I paid, I believe I got a quality product. ... show more

  • Good, inexpensive 5K (217 PPI) monitor, great solution for MAC computers
Size: 27 inch Style: WUHD 5K2K HDR400 Color: White
This is a great value for a 5K monitor. The 5K resolution (217 pixels per inch) scales well with the native display output from MAC computers. The 27-inch size is large, without being overwhelming. The I/O is fairly robust with HDMI 2.0 (3840x2160), DisplayPort 1.4 (5120x2880 or 2560x1440), USB-C (Power Delivery of 65 W, and DisplayPort video 5120x2880 or 2560x1440), 2x USB 3.0 downstream ports, and a headphone jack. The monitor features 135% sRGB color gamut area, 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, 500cd/㎡ brightness, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 1.07 billion colors, and HDR400. Blue Light Reduction reduces eye fatigue, irritation, and strain. ... show more

  • Backlight Bleed Backlight Bleed
Value wise, I think this is would be a great monitor. The price for the specs is great. Sadly, mine had severe backlight bleed. I also find it odd how none of the other reviews included images of the monitor on. I will say, some bleed is expected with LED screens, since it's not OLED. And no this this isn't backlight glow, since it's mostly at the top of the screen, not in the corners. I didn't expect such a large amount though. Will probably be returning it, I suggest investing a few more dollars into a reputable brand like Acer or MSI. Not a good purchase. ... show more

  • Great screen, missing controls, no speakers
So far so good as far as image quality and budget OLED, but there are shortcomings. There are missing controls to turn off sleep mode, it goes to sleep mode regardless what I set in the menus. There is no manual way to switch between inputs, so I can have 2 inputs it does "auto" switch to the next input, even though I'm waiting for the other pc connected to boot up, it keeps switching away. The LED that indicates the power on is too bright and looks too cheap. Also I see it is listed "built in speakers". There is no built in speakers. False advertising. ... show more

  • Good monitor, easy RMA process
Good quality, using an excellent panel that's also used in much more expensive monitors. Excellent HDR. For people who haven't used it before, the local dimming can be distracting in desktop use but really shines in games and media playback. Only reason for 4 star is my first one failed after 3 months - the panel went blank but backlight and dimming still worked as though it was showing an image. The return process was simple and easy - photographed the issue as asked, was given a return shipping label, shipped the monitor back at no expense and was quickly sent a new in box replacement. I had been happy with their cheaper H32T13 but was initially worried about buying a more expensive monitor from a relatively unknown brand. But their painless RMA process has reassured me quite a bit. ... show more

  • Monitor blacks out
Size: 27 inch Style: QHD 100Hz. Color: Black
Worked fine for about 4 months, now the screen starts going black sporadically. It's not on a regular interval nor seems to be a computer or cable issue. The monitor just goes black, then the image comes back after a couple seconds. When it worked, the image was reasonably clear and colors are decent. Not recommended due to the black-outs. ... show more

  • Not impressed
I bought it because it was a cheap option that was well-reviewed and I needed a small, portable monitor. Afterwards, I used it as a third monitor for my desktop. -The colors seem off and I tried everything that I could (changing monitor settings and graphics card settings) to fix it. It's like they are a bit blurry and oversaturated. -I really don't like the power/menu button being in the center of the monitor. It can be difficult to access when mounted above another monitor. -The power cable is thin with a chunky power adapter plug at the end of it, which takes up space on a surge protector. -The monitor will randomly disconnect and claim that there is no connection even though I didn't touch the cable going to my PC. It takes several tries of disconnecting the power cable and plugging it back in to get it to recognize the connection to my PC. Overall, I would not recommend this monitor and I won't buy this brand again. I'd suggest going for a reputable name brand (Acer, LG, etc.) instead, which I've noticed go for comparable prices. ... show more

  • 4k mini led - mp27p6 - Honest Review
Size: 27 inch Style: 4K 160Hz &1080P 320Hz HDR1400 Color: White
I purchased this with my own money, and this is my honest review of it. TL;DR: Compared to my other IPS monitor, it looks largely the same. IPS glow is still very noticeable with local dimming set to Auto, and only slightly improved in certain cases on Standard or Low. Haloing around the mouse and subtitles remains unless local dimming is reduced significantly. At that point, overall brightness and color suffer, making it no better than a standard IPS with the brightness turned down. The local dimming zones don’t come close to delivering an OLED-like experience. AI formatted to reduce my rambling and make more sense, my thoughts, just better (?) Background / Why I Upgraded After more than 8 years with my BenQ XL2730 (1440p, 144Hz TN), I finally felt the itch to upgrade. I went back and forth between a 1440p OLED and a 4K Mini-LED IPS and ultimately chose the Mini-LED. Why? I spend 8+ hours a day working and maybe 1 hour gaming, so text clarity mattered I was used to TN panels with very vivid, punchy colors I value brightness and color pop more than perfect blacks OLED subpixel text issues still made me hesitate plus the 2x cost for a good one. I’ll also admit I often preferred SDR over HDR on my old display, since HDR sometimes felt muted or bland in certain games. First Impressions My first unit arrived completely destroyed (thanks, shipping), but Amazon replaced it quickly. I appreciated that, since I really wanted to give this monitor a fair shot. Once set up properly, the brightness and color immediately stood out. Playing Minecraft with my kid and watching the sun rise honestly felt blinding—in a good way. This panel can get very bright, and vivid colors are definitely its strong suit. Which once you see the external power supply to run this thing it makes sense. HDR in 'No Rest For The Wicked' colors are also very good. Day-to-Day Experience What’s Good Brightness & Color: Extremely bright with strong, vibrant colors Text Clarity: 4K IPS is noticeably better for work and daily use Stand: Solid enough; height, tilt, and swivel all work as expected Base: Mostly flat and usable—I can set small items on it without issue What’s Just Okay Bezels: Nothing special; about the same as my older LG 4K IPS OSD/Menu: Functional, but clunky. The joystick often misreads inputs Mini-LED & Local Dimming (The Big Letdown) This is where expectations didn’t meet reality. IPS glow is still very present, and in my experience, sometimes worse than a standard IPS Local dimming on Auto doesn’t meaningfully reduce glow Standard or Low can help slightly, but haloing around the mouse and subtitles remains which I knew would be the case. Reducing local dimming enough to control glow also kills overall brightness and color In practice, it doesn’t feel significantly better than a normal IPS with the brightness turned down. The Mini-LED zones don’t come close to faking an OLED-like experience. Dual Mode (1080p @ 320Hz) Technically it works—but realistically? The image is very blurry compared to a native 1080p monitor Even though 1080p should scale cleanly to 4K, it’s still noticeably worse I ended up abandoning this mode entirely Final Thoughts I ended up keeping the monitor, but honestly? I think I could’ve gotten something better—possibly for less money. Mini-LED isn’t the gamechanger I hoped for IPS glow was supposed to improve but didn’t. Dual mode is more of a marketing feature than something I’d actually use. If you want brightness, vivid color, and great text clarity, this monitor delivers. But if you’re expecting Mini-LED to dramatically close the gap to OLED—especially in dark scenes—you’ll likely be disappointed. Verdict: Good overall display, but Mini-LED feels oversold. A solid IPS monitor, not a revolution. I will try to update with pictures for better comparison later. ... show more
