I was expecting something “playable” Well this is honestly that and more, I was looking for a “bass to throw in the car” and just kinda have with me to jam with but it’s terrible at doing that for one simple reason. IT TOO FUN TO PLAY! It live inside on the wall next to my Ibanez sr300 and squire vintage modified active Jaguar bass and I still find myself grabbing it and playing way more often than I would have expected. The 30 inch scale length makes it easy to play. Oh one note, I did immediately take the neck off and give it a Tung oil finish after sanding the wood to 2000 grit which made the neck feel like glass. I highly recommend doing this as the supplies are cheap (if smelly) and super easy to apply, just takes 1-2 days between coats. ... show more

I have a Fender P Bass and a little Hofner bass. I have small hands and sometimes the P Bass is a little hard to play with the wider neck. I liked the short scale of the Hofner as it is easy to play. Looked at this bass because it was short scale. Didn't see anything negative about it so I took the plunge and bought one. The Made in China guitars and basses get hit on a lot for quality, sharp biting frets, finish blems and so on. The bass arrived today and was very well packed. I checked it out and couldn't find any flaws. Tuned it up and the intonation was spot on. Had to adjust the low string saddle a smidge due to buzzing but once I tweaked it, buzz is gone. I also adjusted to pickup height just a bit. Well, I plugged it in and am stunned and how well it sounds. Yes, the pickup could probably be swapped out for something higher end but it stays as is on mine. Neck is nice and straight and it plays very well. Because of the short scale as well as the narrower neck, it is a breeze for me to play. Yes this is a $59.00 bass but it was well worth it. If you're looking for a cheap inexpensive bass to get started or just play around with, buy this bass!! It is a steal!! ... show more

I was looking for a reasonably priced short (30") scale bass guitar, and this one seemed to fill the bill. The fact that it came with useful accessories (a guitar cord, a guitar strap, and a zipper bag) was a real plus.
