  • Worth the money
Color: Sunset Size: Full
I play guitar have gigged out since 2016. I used to have a bass. Long story short got this for 80$. You can't beat that sounds and plays just fine. I'm gonna get more basses now because of it. Lol This bass is a great beginner bass as well. Sounds just fine. The amp even sounds good. ;)

  • Good cheap beginners bass.
Color: Black Size: Full
It's a nice bass for being as cheap as it was, the finish on it isn't perfect, which is low key irritating, but my kid didn't mind. The amp sounds good (again, for what it is) and he's happy with it, which is all I could ask for, tbh. Good buy, I recommend it. (The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the finish having wrinkles in it which is disappointing to me, but not my son) ... show more

  • Worth every penny
Color: Black Size: Full
Our local band or music shop stated that this was the nicest Amazon China bass that he has ever seen! Worth every penny and more! The sound carried like an expensive model!

  • Unexpectedly Good
Color: Sunset Size: Full
This has turned out to be a great entry level bass. I first thought the tuners would be junk, like almost all guitars at this price range, but these have worked without problems. Everything else has worked flawlessly so far, even the string are playable. All guitars in this price range I have ever seen have strings that are of such low quality it's like a running joke. Of course, the amp is just barely an amp at all, but it will do for the first month or two. The body and neck have no problems, and the paint finish has no flaws that I can see. Maybe I got a good one in the top 1%, but most people understand that these are more of a modding platform and the body and neck being good is all that really matters. For the price, it's great. ... show more

  • Definitely worth more than the price tag.

I grabbed this bass mainly to serve a very specific purpose. I needed a bass for an ep I was working and my normal midi plugin was just not getting the job did. I intended to layer it on top of the plugin as a little natural flavor. Wasn’t expecting much. It completely replaced the midi. The bass is lightweight, has a pretty substantial baseball bat neck that fit my larger hands comfortably but younger beginners may not love, but they almost non-existent finish is smooth and fast and the fretwork is shockingly good. The finish on the body is even. It arrived very close to intonated which was a nice surprise. Only a few small adjustments. The pickups really surprised me. The p bass pickups have that nice boom you’d expect from a p bass. The j pickup lets you dial in a nice bright clack but doesn’t get TOO bright. They definitely punch above their weight class. The included stuff aside from the Allen wrenches are pretty meh. The strap is the standard super short strat that comes with guitars that leaves the guitar sitting up around your armpits… not useful if you’re over 5’ tall. Don’t bother with the cable. But that stuff is not an issue… it’s the same freebie crsp that comes with every cheap converse instrument. It’s nice that they throw it in but not worth using. If you need a bass but don’t have much to drop, this is a spectacular option and makes a great mod platform. ... show more

  • It's OK if you are looking for a PJ platform to modify. Not recommended as a starter bass.
Color: Vintage White Size: Full
First off, understand that this is a $70 purchase. It's amazing you can get anything that even resembles a bass for that price. I build basses, and play basses in a band that puts on shows regularly in the Myrtle Beach area, so I bought this bass to see if there were any good parts I could use in building a new bass...and that is essentially what this bass is good for...parting out to build a better bass. Onto the review. First, the good: The paint job on the body is nicely done, and the routing for the pickups is good. The neck pickup (the "P" pickup) is actually not bad. You could get by using it in a build. Second, the OK: The bridge. It's a typical bridge. It does the job. It's a solid, typical bent angle, 5 hole Fender style bass bridge. The pots. Again, they're passable. They are mini-pots (which I expect for this price), but all work and are the appropriate 250k pots for a PJ. The wiring. Again, it's passable an everything was wired correctly. Third, the bad: Essentially everything from the body up. The entire neck is awful. This is the main reason why the bass wouldn't be good for a beginner. The neck would make them want to quit playing. It feels like a baseball bat, both in size and texture. It's a fat C shape neck and is completely unfinished, both on the back and the fretboard. It feels like someone sanded it down with 600 grit sandpaper and said "good enough". The wooden edges of the fretboard are an abrupt 90 degrees with no rounding, so it feels like you are gripping the edge of a bookshelf. I typically do some shaping all the necks I buy to make them more comfortable, but this one would take a LOT of work. The headstock is also unfinished, and both the D and G tuners slip and skip when turning them. You are better off taking the entire neck off the guitar and replacing it. The last bad thing is the bridge pickup (the "J" pickup). It is extremely underpowered, to the point that when I tested it I checked to make sure the wiring was correct and that the pickup height was appropriate. It is about half the volume output of the stock P pickup. I didn't bother saying anything about the strings, as strings tend to be personal preference. For $70, here's what I'm going to do with this bass. Unbolt the neck and chuck it in the bin. Put on a replacement neck and tuners. Buy some full size pots to replace the mini pots. Buy a replacement J pickup. Buy a high mass bridge. So if you are into modding basses, I think it's worth the $70 just for the body, passable P pickup, and passable pots/bridge. However, if you want to start playing bass, or buy this for someone who is interested in learning bass, spend a little more money on something that is going to be more comfortable and playable right off the shelf. ... show more

  • Do it.

It’s a great way to get a bass guitar into your kids hands without the financial investment. Nice to see something else in his hands other than technology. He’s loving jamming out and his friends have taken an interest to it too.
