These magnets are excellent! They hold not only my shower curtains in place so it doesn't attack me while I'm showering, they work great holding my window curtains in place so my heat/air comes out to the room instead of up the curtains to the window!

I can absolutely see these being used to keep drapes from blowing around too much, but they don't help darken a room. My bedroom is intentionally very dark, with blackout curtains on all of the windows. The only flaw is that where the curtain panels meet, there's a tiny bit of light that comes through. The cats play around and turn that into a big, open space. My hope was that these clever and attractive pieces of hardware would give us a good solution to sealing out that last bit of light that seeps through. Unfortunately, when I installed these as they're shown in the advertisement pictures, there was even more light coming through than before. I tried a couple different ways but gave up because each different placement creates another large pinhole. I'm going to come up with a way to make use of these things, but I need to find some fabric I don't care about to try a few more ways of applying them.

I have blackout curtains in my tv room and was frustrated by the gaps between the panels. I thought these would be a great solution. Unfortunately they just weren't strong enough to work... in sliding the curtains back in the morning the pieces would become misaligned so every time I closed the curtain I was lining things back up. I also didn't like seeing the pin heads on the curtains when the curtains were closed. I suppose I could open the side hem and put the magnet piece into the hem opening, securing it with the pin on the backside of the curtain, so it would be "invisible" from the room but then I might as well just sew in magnets and be done with it all and not have to see the pin heads regardless. If you don't mind seeing the magnet and pin head these would undoubtedly work on sheers or light weight curtains and I presume would be useful with securing a shower curtain..... if you have the patience to match up the magnets. Nice idea but just not a successful implementation to solve the real problem.

I have blackout curtains in my living room that we close when we want to keep the glare off the TV. The problem was, there was always a slit between the panels where the light continued to come in. The magnets are the solution. They are just like lapel pins, so you can poke them through the curtains and put the back on to keep them on. They button up my curtains just fine, which is what I wanted. I think they’d be even better if the magnets were a little stronger, but they do serve the purpose.

We used this to hold the curtains closed at a hotel. The curtains always left a gap to let sunlight in so they worked perfectly to keep the room dark. The magnets were strong enough to hold them closed and also has a pin closure if you wanted something strong or more permanent. They also included 3M magnet discs that you could stick to the fabric or wall as another option. Overall it’s a functional option that works well. Stronger magnet or more stylish option would be the only thing holding it back

I wish there were more magnets in the package, but I am glad I found these. The living room cutans keept opening everytime the fan blew over them and was very annoying. Adding these to the curtans keeps them closed while still allowing easy acces to open them when I want to. They install juat like earrings do, just a bit larger. It has the same retention method

I was really excited about this. I had wanted to figure out how to do magnetically closed curtains. But they didn't work as expected. The magnet isn't strong enough to work through the fabric, so you're stuck with some ugly metal pieces keeping your curtains closed. That wouldn't be so bad, but the magnets kept keeping themselves offset, so they didn't want to stay together as I installed them. The pin backs were hard to put back on, and they kept falling as I got them installed on the curtains. This was nothing what i was hoping for.

Based on the reviews I’ve seen for these magnets, I thought they were going to be a bit disappointment. After I got these for my wife, and she applied them to the bedroom curtains, I noticed that she pin the magnets to the ends of the curtains. Then it dawned on me that other people using these are probably trying to have the magnets go through the entire curtain so they grip. The magnets are not that strong to go through several layers of material specially thick curtains, but if you stick the magnets to both ends of the curtain then you can join the two ends together and scrunch up the curtain to allow light in. I don’t think you want super strong magnets that would go through the curtain material. Otherwise, when it came together without the material, they would be too strong for you to take a part, and they would probably come with a few bandages for those pinched fingers. These magnets for the curtains are a great idea. I like them. I will go back and get another set for the other rooms. The only question I have is I don’t know why they come with five maybe a spare? Overall pretty product and deserve space stars.
