When it comes to what is the absolute best in an extra-virgin olive oil, I am coming to believe that the last ten percent or so of a rating is a question of personal taste and preference. Like trying to rank a group of 5 Nappa Valley cabernets. We can all disagree about which is the absolute best, but we can all also agree that if you are sipping a cabernet from Nappa, you are already 90% there, and you are drinking a VERY good wine. This oil was like that for me. It is not my personal favorite (which remains Corto). But it is genuine, extra-virgin olive oil, and that gets you most of the way there. And this particular one is VERY fresh and good, with a nice peppery kick to the throat, particularly when you consider the price. I would definitely purchase this again. Enjoy.

I was excited and opened it but realized it tasted a bit rancid. I checked the expiration date and only has 3 months left before it expires. Most olive oils last for about 18 months. It’s a shame that they don’t bother to check the expiration date. There’s an old saying, you get what you pay for. Go for a more expensive one.

This EVOO has great taste with a deep and dark flavor. I compared with other EVOOs I have on hand and the others were lighter and brighter. This one has a richer more earthier flavor with herby notes and is very delicious. My family and I used this to dip our bread in. Personally, I'd use this EVOO in ways where the olive oil flavor can really come through - dipping for bread, dressings, drizzled, etc. This is a great EVOO that I would definitely recommend. It's also totally giftable and would make a great gift for a host of a dinner party or someone who likes to cook.

This is a very good premium olive oil with a heavy, rich and peppery flavor. Packed in a nice black jug-style bottle with an attractive label and a slightly fiddly extending pourer top, it's a dark yellow in color. The flavor is quite strong; it's grassy, unctuous, and quite earthy and peppery with a slight bitter-olive scent. There is a slight peppery bitterness to the aftertaste as well, but not so bitter that it's unpleasant, just fresh. It's a fairly heavy olive oil, with a dark color that reflects its strong flavor. For dressings, bread dipping, or as a finishing oil on pasta, it's a very good choice, provided you like the peppery notes of a strong, fresh olive oil. Tasty stuff.

Damn, this is some of the most flavor bomb olive oil I've had. It's just bursting with intense peppery kalamata flavor, with a touch of bitterness, damn! Definitely not some wimpy cooking oil, this is amazing on fresh tomatoes, on cheese, or in a salad dressing. Packaging is a nice glass bottle with a handy little spout cap. The cap doesn't let you glug it out, it's more for drizzling, which might be annoying depending on what you want to use this for.

This is a flavorful olive oil but just a tad rough (in terms of bitterness) for my taste. It works best for my as a finishing oil that is applied with a light touch. It's not ideal for use in a dressing since the roughness overshadows other flavors in the salad. It comes in a black painted bottle that has a small handle. The handle is too small to be of much use unless you have very thin fingers. The spout is not well-suited to controlling small amounts. It's not a big deal since the oil can easily be decanted into a better pouring vessel (which I did pretty quickly after getting frustrated with the spout) but considering the price point, I would prefer a bottle that is better designed for functionality rather than how it looks. On the plus side, the manufacturer took care in packaging the bottle with bubble pack, and it arrived in perfect condition. While it's not my favorite, it is a solid 4 star olive oil.

This review is for the KORVEL Premium - Greek Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This is some legit excellent tasting EVOO. It has a deep rich olive color, a fantastic smell, and an awesome full-bodied taste with a hint of pepper. The quality is evident. It isn’t really the type of EVOO you should use for cooking. Use a lower quality EVOO for that purpose. This one should be savored as a finishing oil, dip, or feature ingredient in a salad dressing. We combined it with a high quality Balsamic and a touch of oregano for a simple yet fantastic tasting dip with some crunchy warm fresh bakery bread. The flavor of this KORVEL EVOO just shines. So very pleased with this EVOO, and glad I ordered it. It is also very giftable, especially with this bottle style. The oil itself is special enough, but the bottle just gives it an extra special touch as a gift. But I’m keeping mine :)
