I'm rarely so motivated to leave a positive review, it's usually when expectations and reality don't meet that I leave reviews, and it's more common for products to overinflate their value and disappoint than to delight. In this case the reality far exceeded the expectations. Something about the photo of the device set the bar a little low for me. When the package arrived I didn't know what it was, but upon opening the mailer I was pleasantly surprised to see a tightly packaged device, and unboxing it revealed a small-sized but hefty little component with a satisfying plunger-like button to depress. Set-up was beyond easy, just plug and play, as they say. Functions exactly as expected. Complete silence when the button is not depressed. My voice comes through on a recording as normal when I push it (or the opposite of that if it's configured that way). There's no clicking or popping when pressing or releasing the button, and when released my voice immediately is muted again. Phantom power passes to my mic without a problem. A delightful, fun, and useful little piece of simple but well-constructed technology to prevent my mic from picking up ambient noise while I'm silent or echo from other speakers while I'm in a meeting. Mine is working great. I use it for a talkback mic in the recording studio. I've used a 57 and a 58 on it. I haven't tried a condenser mic on it. It's small but weighty; doesn't slide around on the desk or get pulled around by the mic cables attached to it. I keep it on the desk but you could use it on the floor with your foot, too.     • Using it to activate a mic connected to a vocoder
Great accessory for my rig. I'm a performing keyboardist using it to activate a second mic that's attached to one of my keyboards. This mic is only for vocals being passed through a vocoder, so I don't want the mic live all the time, picking up ambient noise.

Had an old momentary switch for the mic for football and baseball games as our in booth language can get a bit spicy. Can't let the parents hear that. Our old switch was not as consistent as it once was, so I got this to replace it. This is built like a tank. Easy to setup with just 2 plugs and a single switch. This is a great switch with no audible clicks when you press it. Convenient switch to go between push to mute or push to talk. Very sturdy with an excellent build quality. Nice big red button easy to press every time. I use it for announcing high school sports. It’s amall in size which is nice because it doesn’t take up my whole area. Easy to work with and work around. Just like others have noted, there is an audible click when pressed. It gets louder the higher the gain. On a Zoom PodTrak P4 and a Shure SB74 It gets pronounced and visible on the display of a Gain 3+ and higher. This may be okay if you are on a live broadcast, but it is not acceptable for a live stream or podcast recording. I don't want to have to edit it out. Corrected/updated review. After recording a podcast I tested it and though I could hear it at my end and I could see it on my meter my co host who remoted in could not hear it even though I tried several times to get it to come across at her end. Even more interesting it didn't seem to come across on my recording. If it did, it was very hard to detect and wasn't necessary to edit out. ... show more
