First off, the customer service I got from these folks was amazing. The first unit I received didn't work properly out of the box. I sent them a message, doubting I would get any sort of meaningful response. Almost instantly, I got a reply, and after determining that the product was indeed defective, they shipped me a new one immediately, which worked perfectly.. Secondly, this is a great bargain. The built in sounds are pretty cheesy, but they allow me to practice effortlessly. Where the unit shines, is that it offers both Bluetooth and USB MIDI capabilities, and connected to a good sounding sampled or modeled player (Kontakt, VSL, SWAM), it's remarkably realistic and responsive. I have MIDI keyboards and guitars, but it's difficult to create realistic sounding brass or woodwind parts using those as a controller. For the price of a toy, this offers a much better experience.

I am somebody who plays multiple instruments as a hobby, strings keyboards and woodwinds and a bit of percussion, and I have to say this little digi-sax has thoroughly blown me away. The breath response is quite good and the fingerings are intuitive. The half step keys are a game changer. If you’re interested and on the fence about this product, bite the bullet and get one. I love this thing. The speaker impressed me and the sounds are quite charming through the speaker or through headphones. (Perhaps an acquired taste, they’re synthesized sounds for certain, but I enjoy them.) You can feel the instrument vibrating with the notes in speaker mode, reminiscent of the real instrument. 100% recommending for anyone interested in an affordable bare bones ewi.

If you want to learn to play on this, I would suggest getting the Essential Elements E Flat Alto Sax Book 1 to learn the fingering and reading the music for some tunes. If you want it to sound better, connect it via usb to something like Garage Band, with the free BBC Orchestra sounds, but I had problems with some lag, so this would work better for slow stuff. Still working my way through Book 1

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this instrument and the ability to play it within minutes of receiving it in the mail!!! Most of the sounds/voices included with the Konix Digital Wind Instrument can easily feed the desires of your imagination. I'm not a techie by any means, but the initial ease of use of this relatively inexpensive instrument has me thinking about who in the family might get this in their holiday gifts. FUN DAYS AHEAD! The media could not be loaded. The EWI Electronic woodwind has amazing features that make it fun for playersof all ages. It is small and stylish with closed finger holes to help produce and execute perfect notes. The EWI includes easy sax or flute fingering styles. The detachable silicone mouth covers help reduce teeth marks. Ten tones to choose from makes it sound like different instruments. Three kinds of breath sensitive features. Additional features: Reverb, built in speaker w volume control, wireless/wired MIDI, earphone interface, 3 octave range and USB/DC 5V/1A A great addition to your collection!
