I got this for as a gift for my nephew, and he loves so much! . This thing is awesome. This product is well designed and fun for older kids. I would say a kid needs to be at least 6 or older to really start playing with it as it can be complicated with all the buttons and functions of the excavator. I like that it was already put together upon delivery so all we needed to do was input batteries and charge it and it worked great. If your kiddos like to play in the dirt and/or like tractor trailers, this is a perfect toy for them!All points of articulation have independent control so you can actually just curl and dump the bucket and move the arm separately. Seems pretty sturdy. I actually thought the body was metal at first. Have been having fun getting used to the controls. Once you get the hang of it, you can really do some nice maneuvers. It also has the ability to be programmed so you can program a set of movements then sit back and watch it move! totally awesome unexpected extra feature! Highly recommend.

My son bought this with his hard earned lawn mowing money and it is really cool and he has been able to do a lot of life like excavating, etc with it, however, one of the plastic toggle switches snapped off the other day when he was using it and of course, it was just past the 1 month warranty window.

When I got this I also bought the matching dump truck and the $49 excavator that this same company makes. The Loader is everyone's favorite. It's got enough power to drive and scrape up decent scoops of moist sand and load them into the matching RC dump truck. The controls are very simple and my 5 year old can easily jump right into the action. There just two main design issues that are silly to me: 1: The loader's bucket doesn't go high enough to load the matching dump truck - you gotta build a ramp to drive this up higher than the drump truck to get anything into the bed. Either this needs to get taller, or the dump truck design needs to get lower to make a really nice set. 2: There's not much ground clearance - given how some of these cheap dual motor 'rock crawler' trucks are I'm surprised a better drive system hasn't made it's way to the RC truck world to give better grip. 3: I feel like the controls would be much better if there was simply a 3rd lever for the bucket. Up to go up, down to go down. Or at least place the buttons vertically so it's more logical as opposed to side by side. My kids forget which is up and which is down over and over, not a huge deal but just silly. 4: while there's enough power with the scoop to do a decent job, I feel like it wouldn't be hard to give it just a little more torque.

I was expecting this toy to be fully steerable in the traditional sense. It seems it steers much like a bulldozer, even though it looks like a front-end loader. Otherwise, this toy was meant for my son (6yo under supervision) and he absolutely loves it. He uses it indoors, scooping up anything from lego blocks to lincoln logs. Hence, I gave it overall 4 stars since it really is about him and his enjoyment. The only thing that concerns me durability-wise, is the side view mirrors seem to be made of a weak plastic and already show signs that they will be the first to break. Everything else seems pretty sturdy and assembled well. Again, the since the vehicle doesn't steer the traditional way (not expected), the remote control is also set up like steering a bulldozer. However, it does seem to work well and stay connected.

Excavator looks real nice and is great for beginners. However it isn't strong enough to do much of anything. A good toy for little boys. Not recommended for older kids who want more action.

The media could not be loaded. This is a really neat little toy full functionality is spot on everything is great except battery is older cell type 7.2c 500mah don't get very much run time but if you upgrade to a 2c lithium it's amazing I used 1/16 scale r/c car pack 2c 1400mah theoretically 3x run time made big difference don't go any higher than 2c tho would recommend to kids and adults perfect toy

My son is obsessed with tractors so we got this for his birthday. He played with it everyday. So we had to charge it every other day. Battery isn’t terrible for a rechargeable item. However the things that control the bucket broke super easy and no longer does what it’s supposed to. Not worth the money in my opinion
