  • A major time saver!
We live in a 100+ year old house with a terribly labeled electrical panel in the basement. My husband used to have to run up and down multiple flights of stairs checking to see if he'd flipped the right breaker anytime we needed to do any work, so I bought him this toolkit for Christmas. It was well worth the money! Works exactly as described and saves a lot of time and effort. The instructions are pretty self-explanatory and it's very easy to use. ... show more

  • Works perfect for what I needed
I bought a 14-year-old house and not everything was labeled in the electrical panel. This help me track down every light socket and outlet. very easy to use and durable.

  • Nailed it!
Product impressed me. Not the solid tool I anticipated. I’d even go as far as to say it’s rather cheap and looks like a child’s toy, but it works great and will save you from screaming from the garage; “how about now?!?!, did the lights turn off?? …I can’t hear you!, just call me on my cell!”, or having to make several trips to the second floor when labels are missing, incorrect or faded in your breaker panel. Accessories included are equally as cheap in appearance and feel but both very cool and useful. Summary: Time saving accurate product I wish I owned years ago. A very expensive low quality must-have tool that’s fun for the whole family. Tip: False positives happened a few times in different scenarios making me question the tools reliably, so I went back and actually read the manual, learning the importance of reading a manual. Wand all of the breakers once, then a second pass. (Exact pattern as the first pass.) Your second pass should light up on the correct breaker. ... show more

  • Klein Tools 80016 - What I wish I had years ago
This tool has completely transformed the way I approach electrical work. It is a game-changer for anyone dealing with circuit tracing. The simplicity of use is remarkable. The transmitter plugs into the circuit, and the receiver quickly and accurately pinpoints the corresponding breaker in the panel. No more trial and error or guessing games flipping breakers. The tool's build quality is impressive, and it feels sturdy in hand. The audible and visual indicators make it easy to confirm when you've found the right breaker. This is a must-have for electricians and DIYers alike. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable circuit breaker finder. ... show more

  • Works like it Should!
This has saved me a Ton of running back and forth. Nothing worse than being on a project and having to run from the garage to the second floor (or wherever) to see if you got the right breaker. And No More homeowners having to go back nd resetting clocks etc because you flipped the wrong breaker. It’s accurate and worth the money. Once again Klein Tools came thru! ... show more

  • It works
It works as it's supposed to, and the sensitivity narrows after initial scanning. On my Cutler Hammer CH panels it works better if the front cover is off the panel, but it's apparently not so great across the breaker fronts themselves. I just bought it so there may be a learning curve for me, but other reviewers have noted the same thing with CH breakers. Also works for identifying wires on the same circuit in different boxes, not just the breakers themselves. With an old house and electrical many revisions over the years, conduit running everywhere, this is what I really needed. Surprise addition is that the transmitter that you plug in is also a receptacle polarity and ground tester and a GFI tester. I bought the model that came with the accessory pack that includes an adapter for Edison-base light bulb sockets, a 2-prong adapter for non-grounded receptacles (and needed with the light bulb adapter), and an adapter to connect the transmitter to wires, etc rather than plugging it into a receptacle. None of that is crucial, but it was a cheap add-on and wil be handy on occasion. I've had a cheap circuit identifier for years, the blue one sold under many names, but it's never worked well. The only thing that does reliably is turn on and beep whenever it's touched or jostled (no positive off switch). Not sure how many times it actually identified anythiing, except identifying me as a fool for buying it. And it wasn't really that much cheaper than this quality Klein tool. I've always been satisfied with every Klein tool I've ever bought, this one included. No doubt there are more exotic circuit tracers for specialty applications, but this works as advertised for simple 120 VAC wiring. ... show more

  • Easy to use and eliminates what circuits manage what outlets, lights...
It took a little time to run around the house to plug the transmitter into outlets & lights, but was really quick and accurate to find the fuse that ran the outlet/light the transmitter was plugged into. The picture is my electrical box, at the top was the original scratching of various electricians, previous owners, me, etc. Below is a quick spreadsheet I made with all the circuit numbers and the lights and outlights they manage. What I was surprised was how many circuits were mislabeled (e.g. Kitchen, when it was really the outlets in the Kitchen, with a different circuit managing the stove, fridge, and microwave. It just makes everything a lot easier when you need to turn off a circuit to add new products (microwaves, mini fridge, and help figure out why certain fuses keep tripping (too much stuff in all the outlets). When I told my neighbors about what I did, they all wanted to borrow it to do the same for their house. Nice way to meet your "new friends" ... show more
