    • Love the wide mouth
I live in Texas yet this water bottle keeps my water cool in my car. The mouth is wider than most bottles and the outside is not glassy so can be gripped far easier. It holds lots of water but not too much that it will tip over in my car beverage holder. Life my new water bottle!!

The one on the right is the older one i ordered and has the curved lip and the smaller form factor so much easier to handle. The bottle is perfect to carry around everyday and retains heat and cold so well!

I have had my Kanteen for a few days now, and I have to say I am very impressed. I did not receive a damaged or dented one as a few reviewers apparently have, so I'm happy about that. This bottle really does keep water very cold. I filled it up with ice cold water at about 10am on a Friday morning, and by 5pm it was still ice cold. I left it in my car for a few hours today while running errands, and when I got home and took a swig the cold water I had filled it with in the morning was still cold. I had it sitting next to me all evening with the lid off, and the water is STILL ice cold. I should note that I live in South Texas, where today's high temp was in the upper 80s - meaning it was 90+ in my car. Overall, I am very pleased. I have another non-insulated Kanteen with the sport cap, which I do not care for at all, so I bought this one with the loop cap. I was really hoping it would fit into the side pocket of my 5.11 Tactical Rush 24 backpack, but it's about 1" too tall...a bummer, because as a music teacher who travels to various campuses during the day, I like to have water handy. I've ordered the stainless steel lid, which I think has a shorter profile, so we'll see if that makes it fit. If not, it's not a deal breaker - I'll just hook it on with a carabiner or something. I really, really love this bottle. There is absolutely ZERO funky or metallic taste to my water, another huge plus. I hope it continues to keep my water cold...probably do an updated review after I've had it a little longer. For now, though, HIGHLY recommended. ***UPDATE*** I received the lower profile stainless steel lid today, and I'm happy to report that the Kanteen now fits in the side pocket of my 5.11 Rush 24 backpack. It's a little tough to get it in, but once it's in it fits just fine. I'm happy about this for many reasons, mainly that I can store it in that pocket rather than in the main compartment or hanging from a carabiner, and when I lash it to the passenger seat of my motorcycle the bungee cords I use to secure it won't squash it like they do plastic bottles. No more plastic bottles for me! **UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 2016*** I have now had this bottle for almost a year and I am just as pleased with it now as the day I received it; so much so that I'm buying a 32 oz as well. A huge item in its favor is that it absolutely does not sweat. I love that I can fill this with cold water, take it in my car in the high heat and humidity of south Texas, and then bring it to my office (which is usually about 68F) and the surface is dry. I can set it on my desk and not worry about it sweating onto my paperwork or leaving a water ring. Also, I have never put ice in this - only cold water from the fridge - and even with the outside heat it stays frosty cold for hours. I have had ZERO issues with funky taste or smell and the stainless steel cap I use still works perfectly. It does tend to squeak a little when I screw it on or off, but I've learned to live with it. I did drop it and ding the bottom a little but it hasn't affected the functionality at all. Another thing I love is the rolled edge of the mouth. I bought a 12oz insulated bottle for times when I want to carry less in my bag, and although it works just as well the edge of it is not rolled and makes it pretty uncomfortable to drink from...so much so that I really don't use that bottle at all. At any rate - this was a great buy and I'm looking forward to more years of use. ... show more

These are great water bottles for the kids. When they were younger we used the spill proof sippy cap, and now the sport cap. Love the color selection and size.

    • BRRRRR! Keeps water cold!
I am loving my Klean Kanteen. It actually WORKS! Works best, of course, if you add ice. The opening is large enough for my ice cubes. I usually just rinse and refill and haven't really had to clean it yet, but I will definitely need to use a brush or some drop in bottle cleaner tabs (Bottlee Bright) because the opening is pretty small. No dents or dings yet, but I expect that will happen eventually. ... show more

    • Why didn't I purchase one sooner?
A dollar short and a day late - seems to be the way I roll. I am just now jumping on the insulated bottle wagon. Based on the reviews of others, I decided to purchase my first insulated stainless steel bottle. It arrived the other day and I was able to test it out. I washed it in hot soapy water, dried it out and when I was ready to go, I filled it up with about 6 ice cubes and some filtered water - hopped in my SUV - placed my Kanteen in the cup holder and headed into town to do my exciting, 6 stop errand and shopping trip. It's been pretty hot here and the day I went it was 93 degrees. As I stated, I had 6 stops to do that early/mid afternoon and was gone for approximately 5 hours. Two of those stops were grocery shopping, so my Kanteen was left in my car for those two errands. Although I finished my water and then some from the melted ice - there was STILL ice in my bottle when I got home! Today I took my Kanteen poolside, and although my water didn't last long as I sucked it down, I still had ice in my bottle when I came in 2 hours later. That may not be impressive to you all as in essence I did not put my bottle to any rigorous tasks - but I was surely impressed and now feel I need a much bigger bottle than 20 oz - as the water stays cold enough that I actually enjoy drinking it. **** 9/3/16 I have had the chance to use my water bottle several times when out and about in the car (as well as daily when home) and I cannot tell you how impressed I am. I really have NO idea how I made it without one. It just amazes me that I can have ice cold water ALL day! I love my Kanteen so much I just placed an order for another for my son, so he too can have a cold drink when traveling. We purchased the sippy bottle cap for him - I'll be sure to write a review. ... show more
