Been wanting a kindle for the longest time. I thought I needed to look at all the different models and keep comparing and contrasting and get rid of ads, etc. But really the ads don't even bother me since its only at the home page, basically its only there when the kindle is locked and you can swipe it away. I got it on sale, so the price was perfect. It wasn't too crazy and I didn't need to get anything fancy to read on the plane or train or at the park. The screen and lighting is nice and soft to look at, compared to my glaring phone screen.

I wasn't sure how I would feel not having a physical book in my hand but this has been a great addition to my family. Easy to use and doesn't hurt my eyes. Love that I can easily read on bed without disturbing my hubby.

It's a Kindle. Not much left to say. Looking forward to the day when they have capacity for seeing our highlights and covers in color like on the app. Mine has crashed a few times since I bought it, but if you're an e-reader person it's hard to go wrong with the original.

I love books. I love the feel of books, the smell of books, turning pages. I love books. I have been resisting a Kindle for years, but finally decided that I needed one for a very long flight and trip so I didn't have to lug around 20 pounds of print for 2 weeks. This was such a good purchase. I have read more book in 3 weeks and than I have read in years. Instant library at my fingertips. The backlight is perfect - it seems to adjust to the ambient lighting a bit. The screen doesn't strain my eyes at all. I was a total "Never an E-Reader - I am a book snob" person, but I have seen the light. I mean, I'm still a book snob and I'll also have real print and paper, but I will be doing a LOT of my future reading on here. Best money I have spent in a while- and Kindle unlimited is a total value and deal if you actually read a lot.

I an so happy that I finally purchased a paper white. I was using the kindle app and a library app on my phone, so I was having a hard time justifying buying this. I am so very glad i did!
