Ponies are so hard to fit but this little saddle has done it! It has rings for a breastplate and a crupper which should offer extra security too. We are using this saddle for a 3 year old girl lead line on a 40" pony. So far so good and there is room for her to grow. We are not using stirrups yet but I suspect that the stirrups might put riders legs a little forward but for safety I would rather have legs forward than back. The billets are nylon. Synthetic suede seat offers a little extra purchase for the riders seat. My three year old can carry it on her own too which is nice! This was worth the $70 price tag. A winner! ... show more

Best part of this saddle is that it's lightweight and easy for my daughter to lift. Some negative points though: the material it's made of shows every bit of hair and dust and it won't be easy to keep clean. Also, the hook where you attach the stirrup leathers is not very sturdy compared to a higher quality saddle. It's also at a different angle that caused the stirrup leather to slip out while my daughter was riding. Not good. You also need to buy a dressage girth for use with this saddle. Since the buckles are at the bottom of the flap instead of closer to the seat, you need a shorter girth. ... show more

The Seat is not confortable as much as I expect, said my daughter. But, this is really helpful for balance and slippery. Price ok, but I would pay the double if I could find a saddle as small with a more confy seat.

This is a great starter saddle. The fit is very good. Shape of the seat for little kids is ideal. More than you could expect for a inexpensive starter saddle.

Fits ponies great. Makes the kiddos sit pretty well but can have a tendency to force their legs a little forward with regular leathers. Going to try some that are made for this saddle to see if that works better. Over all really happy with it.
