  • A lot of fun and nostalgia with my daughter!
Size: 120PCS Color: Blue+green
I have to start out this review just saying I LOVE this product. I bought this for my two year old daughter, but if I’m being honest, I bought it for me too! Growing up I had a similar product that my parents and I used to build forts and structures. Hoping to recapture that nostalgia, I purchased this, I was not disappointed! Day one my daughter and I built multiple forts for her to play in, we both had a blast! We made some very basic structures but some complicated ones too. My daughter is constantly asking me to build a fort with her, so I would say mission accomplished in the fun department. I did find the rods were sometimes difficult to fit into the holes (due to being a tight fit), but I’d rather have it be tight than very loose and falling out constantly. The rods were also a little flimsy when it came to supporting a blanket over our fort, but a bed sheet worked just fine! Pros: Versatile Perfect for kids and adults Expands creative thinking Cons: Rods can be tough to push into hole Summary: Great product and worth buying if your kids enjoying building. ... show more

  • Hours of fun!
Size: 120PCS Color: Blue+green
I have had the fort building kit for just about 3 weeks now. I bought it on a throwaway chance that my 4yr old would enjoy building his own fort instead of trashing the house trying to make a pillow/blanket fort with what was available. (Chairs, couch cushions, furniture, etc...) The Good: - Simple packaging, everything came in 2 plastic bags. There was a nylon bag that houses everything and made cleanup and storing great - The plastic rods are made of hard plastic and have some amount of give to them. We were a little rough but after taking everything down, I didn’t notice any warping or cracking of the plastic. - Plastic balls have a ton of holes in the which allows you get a little creative while building. They’re hard plastic too and will bounce if thrown. - Once connected, everything felt snug and secure. We made a tent style fort and we’re able to cover it with 3 blankets and there was very little give. The Bad: - Not really anything that was “bad” but taking everything apart was way harder than I imagined. Because of how snug everything fits, disconnecting everything was a bit of a chore. If you use all of the materials they give you, by the end your forearms are going to be sore from twisting. You may struggle as an adult in taking it apart and it’s totally ok. Conclusion: All in, the blanket fort kit was a great buy for my 4yr old and I. It’s given us hours of fun and provided a really cool bonding experience as we built fort after fort together. It has more than enough parts for you to get creative with what you build (I’ll be buying another set so we can go bigger). Everything was lightweight and easy to move even while assembled which makes getting it out of the way a vastly more enjoyable experience versus cleaning up the traditional pillow/blanket fort materials. If I could suggest one thing, it would be that you purchase one of those grip mats that you would get to take lids off jars. Once I bought one, this became super easy to manage. ... show more

  • For size comparison and dimensions see my review...
Size: 85PCS Color: Blue+green
Overall, its pretty good. I took pictures cuz i think the main thing parents need to know is constructed size... so, in the first picture, all but one ball and three rods is used and my size 7/8 9yr old boy sitting inside plus straight view with average interior door for comparison. The second is my 9yr old and his size 8/10 11 yr old brother crammed in together with one queen size sheet barely covering with about 8 inches exposed at bottom of one end. Both kids can sit in there together but pretty cramped. One kid can sit comfortably surrounded by toys as my older autistic son loves to do. He can also lay down if he pulls his knees up. This basic design is. 48"W x 33"H x 33"D with entryway 15"W x 33"H. After being inserted into the connector balls,, the rods are about 14" long.. Theres 54 of them and 31 balls if u want to do the math on that. For both of my older kids to fit comfortably, I'm gonna get a second set. My son threw this together in a matter of minutes so its super easy to use, he does build a lot but I think even inexperienced kids with smaller, weaker hands should have no problem connecting these. (Build from the bottom up so it doesn't fall apart as u go.) One minor complaint is that the rods slip out kinda easy, its really pretty stable but if u try to move it some or bump it, one rod will pop out somewhere, its really not a big deal and if it was any more secure, it would be harder for little kids to put together and take apart but its something I thought I should note. I did only use a sheet instead of a blanket because I didn't want to put too much weight on it. In the 3rd pic, u can see the box was all kind of damaged, torn, bulging and obviously opened and scotch taped back together but all of the parts were there and in good shape. No problems with the contents at all. I also appreciate the sinch bag that came with for storage. My 11yr old son has autism and sensory processing disorder so he loves things like tents and forts, where he can create his own little space within a space and also feel enclosed. And my 9 yr old son, who is a gifted student, is constantly building things out of whatever he finds around the house. It was so great to give them the ability to play together (which can be hard for them to do) and have forts without taking all of my seating and bedding. Overall, we are very happy with it, it does what its supposed to do and it is what its supposed be, so I'm good with the purchase. The boys are thrilled and so am I, cuz now I can go back to using my couches and chairs for actual sitting. I hope my review helps other parents gauge whether it's the right size for their needs. :) For more flexibility in design, I would get the larger 120pc set or 2 sets. Thank you to the manufacturer for an item that actually is what it says it is. Edit: update after several weeks of play- I still like the set but do wish it was a bit sturdier. I can see where it would be difficult to design something that small, weak hands could easily manipulate and yet would stay relatively locked in place when bumped but that would be ideal. As it is, its easy to put together but easy to fall apart. The rods are constantly slipping out somewhere even when the structure is just standing by itself, untouched. Its irritatingly imperfect but we haven't had it collapse on us or anything and we got 2 sets so we have some pretty massive builds. Overall, we're pretty happy with it but it would be a truly great toy if it was easy to use for little hands AND could stay in place when you want it to. ... show more
