I purchased two of these along with two toy organizers for my children, and I - without a doubt - purchased the RIGHT toy box. It holds a very good amount of big toys (I purchased the toy organizers for legos, and other small toys so my children wouldn’t have to dig through their box to get to them) and not to be dramatic, but it’s been life changing. I’m not kidding. This has gotten my childrens rooms SO organized and well put together and they haven’t been before. I LOVE the hydraulic legs on the top which prevents little fingers from getting smashed, and I love that it doubles as a bench when they’re not playing. The boxes are so cute, well made & very sturdy. If your children are like mine and make plenty of messes, these are very easy to wipe down as well. They’re not too big and bulky but they’re the perfect size for what we needed. I searched high and low, read hundreds of reviews & settled for this box, but it definitely wasn’t “settling”. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I was so nervous to drop so much money on something I wasn’t 100% sure about, but now I am so happy I did. This has been one of the best purchases I’ve made to date. I can NOT recommend this toy box more.

I was totally surprised the quality and workmanship of this toy box. The toy box was very easy to put together, with excellent fit and quality hardware. The directions were very easy to follow with large illustrations and clear direction steps. The finished product looks and feels outstanding. Extremely solid and sturdy, but with simple, elegant appearance. One key feature I really liked are the hydraulic lid supports. The lid supports allow a small child to easily and safely raise and lower the toy box lid. The lid gently closes and can never accidentally close on you or a child using the box. This is an outstanding feature. Additionally, KIdKraft's customer service is outstanding. Our toy box arrived with some slight damage to the shipping carton. When I opened the box, I noticed that the toy box lid had a slight blemish that would be visible. We called customer service and they immediately shipped us a replacement lid. No questions, no need to return the damaged lid, and no hassles. Great service. This product is an outstanding value. We purchased this box for our toddler grand-daughter toys at our house. We are so please with this toy box and with KidKraft that we recommended it to our daughter and several of our friends with young grandchildren.

Even after 3 years now this toy box is still in perfect condition. It was very easy to assemble. It took maybe less than 20 min to put together. It’s a pretty good size and holds a lot of toys. Easy to wipe clean. My favorite thing about this toy box is the safety hinges on the lid so fingers don’t get pinched. Also if the lid is up, it stays up!

I got a toy box from Walmart a long time ago as a gift for my toddler. It was flimsy and the bottom broke in nearly a week. I knew I had to get an updated version as my daughter is in her last few glory years of playing with toys (although it pains my heart..) I wanted her to have something fashionable but aesthetically pleasing and not a hazard when I had her friends over for her play dates and such. So I bought this on a whim seeing its great reviews and I have to admit I’m blown away. The size is fantastic for the price. Her toys aren’t even to the top yet. And she has a lot of toys. It fits fabulously in the corner of her room and is so sturdy she can sit on top of it as a seat. It’s a beautiful white color with zero imperfections. Big pain in the butt to put together, so I had to have my room mate do it for me. But he got it done in about an hour... the instructions were very confusing and he hardly used them. So my only complaint would be the assembly. But to assemble a real wooden chest I suppose it takes time and work. It’s well worth it.

The toy box is nice and big... my 7 year old daughter climbed inside and closed the lid on herself! It feels sturdy and hopefully will last a long time. With that being said, there were a few problems. First, there are cosmetic scratches/chips all over the place. If you are a perfectionist, they will bother you. But it is a toy box for children, so I am sure it will get beat up eventually. For this reason I kept the box in spite of the flaws. Secondly, I am not a fan of the exposed philips screws on the lid. They are not very attractive and not smooth. I hope my daughter won't scratch her skin on them. Also, one of the handles arrived broken. KidKraft promises to replace any parts that arrive broken; but only if you order them within a certain time frame! I didn't, so I am stuck with the broken handle. The lid also doesn't close completely. As far as assembly is concerned, the directions could be a little clearer. I installed some of the nuts backwards before realizing my error and had to redo them. The instruction sheet says nothing about that. Also, the bottom has indentations for the screws and the instructions do not point out that the bottom has to go on a certain way. It would be easy to install it upside down and scratch up your floor with the rough screws they use. The illustrations on the instructions had a couple pictures that showed the holes on the wrong side of the side pieces. If you don't have a good mind for assembling things like this, the instructions will confuse you. But if you can handle all these things, which are really pretty minor inconveniences, then go ahead and order. And for those who care about the country of origin, my box said it came from Vietnam.

First-like all furniture, know that "all wood" does not mean "solid wood." This is a particle board/veneer product. Thats why you can get it for under a hundred bucks. Having said that, it's nice to look at, ours was defect and scratch-free and the espresso color, while not as dark as our espresso furniture is not as red as our cherry furniture. It just looks like traditional dark wood stain. Basically we were looking for something that looked less like kid stuff and more like furniture, fit in a family room that has dark brown leather furniture and espresso end tables, and this fits the bill, even if its not an exact match to the Espresso stain on the end tables. Easy assembly, good instructions, screws and parts labeled very well-even with individual, labeled punch outs to make it super easy. All tools except phillips screwdriver are included. I will say that some of the wood pegs did not line up to the holes, but I used a flathead screwdriver and hammer to redirect them and it was fine. Some nice features--the little-finger saving shocks that are attached to the lid. The size is nice and large for storage. (I saw complaints about the size in some reviews, but this is exact to the dimensions listed.) There is a good cutout in the front so our daughter can easily open the lid and then the shocks hold the lid up so it doesn't crash back down on her. It's very sturdy, people have sat on it and the kid has stood on it. Overall very pleased with this for the price. Only thing that would have been better is if it was solid wood, but I doubt you can find that in this size for $90 with free shipping.

This toy box is amazing for the price, it’s extremely sturdy not cheap flimsy material and very easy to put together, me and my husband put it together in less than 30 minutes. It is way easier with 2 people I will say especially for putting the lid on. We love the slow close lid! I ordered the color Vanilla and it is beautiful! It’s like a cream color and it’s perfect if your looking for something that’s not so stark white. I plan on putting my daughters name on the front soon. Very pleased and would defiantly purchase again! Ps I think a lot of the bad reviews are because people over tighten the screws or either tried to put it together by themselves, because this toy box is really nice!

I have been looking for a wooden toy box for my just turned 3 daughter for a few months. I held off from buying one till its become a great necessity with a floor covered with toys and dolls and a collapsible canvas toy barrel which couldn't hold the amount of toys she had. This was one of the most affordable wooden toy box that didn't cost more than $100. Of course I read the other reviews and there were some that kind of scared me, saying it wasn't strong wood and cheaply made. They must was expecting so handmade Amish wooden toy box, which this is not. But personally, I think it's well worth the price. This is a very sturdy, quite roomy toy box. I have to admit, its a little bigger than I thought but that's a plus for me. And I purchased the white which looks fabulous. And love the closing-lid mechanism that helps the lid not to slam shut. Putting together the toy was quite easy (and I did this all by my self). The only part that did throw me off was the last part where you have to prep the lever mechanism (wish there were more written instructions on that part) but for the most part, it was great. I would recommend this to anyone, this will last a very long time.
