I was a little hesitant to buy this mirror simply because I did see one or 2 reviews that said it was a huge pain to hang. After doing it though it wasn't really bad! I decided to hard wire my mirror in as I had an outlet behind my old mirror. Colors and wiring for an outlet are very easy (white to white, Black to Black, and green to green or bare copper for ground) I had the 40 x 24" mirror and the mount holes that I used were 39" from each other. I used the blue painters tape trick to stretch from hole to hole and poke a hole in the spot where the screws go into the back of the mirror. I then took that long piece of tape, used a level to get the tape level, and then used a small screw driver to mark those holes on the wall. I then used 2 metal screw in drywall anchors as the ones that come with the mirror are too flimsy in my opinion. The cord was long enough that I was able to wire up my mirror after turning the power off while having the mirror resting on the counter. I then lifted from the middle of the mirror, got the right side hooked and used that screw to hold the mirror and gently lift the left side up to find that hole. It took about a minute and I was able to get it to slid down and then check that it was level. Not too bad! If you can hang a picture and twist wires together After power is off you can do this!! Just be patient and have a friend there if you need them to hold the mirror while you wire it up. I also used a couple of clear, small, rubber bumpers that you can get in a pack of 60 from walmart or anywhere to space the mirror out to make it feel a bit more rigid so when you press the buttons it won't bang or scrape up the wall. The brightness was really good. I wish it was a tad brighter but generally it's not to replace your main light, just to give you a little help with your face area. So far I just installed it, I'll have to give it time to see how well it works or lasts but I so far love the quality! ... show more

    • Can you turn the radar function off?

Got a mirror. Looked great and worked great. I ended up needing some service on it. Long story but they could not have been more helpful and accommodating. I would buy from them again for sure. Point being, purchase with confidence!

I purchased a 72x36 for our master bath remodel and a 48x36 for our guest bathroom and this review applies to both. I returned the first smaller one because the backside had a 18” crack due to damage in shipping, so I returned it and reordered and the second one worked fine. The 72” worked fine for two days and then had a mind if it’s own and started to cycle off and on, so I returned it. This mfg makes another model that is backlit and I made the mistake of ordering it as a replacement. So I returned it and ordered the correct model and it worked fine. The unit is about 1.5” deep behind the mirror, so I removed the sheet rock to recess it somewhat and added vinyl trim so it doesn’t show. The tricky part to the install is to get the four provided screws that the mirror hangs on in the exact location as there is little room for error. Since I removed the sheet rock I installed 2x4s in the wall where the screws would land. We didn’t add any additional lighting in the guest bathroom but did add recessed lighting over our shower and toilet as the mirror lighting provides somewhat dim lighting in other areas of the bathroom. ... show more

I love the look of this mirror, very attractive. It's also very nice to have both a color temperature choice and dimming ability. One small thing I don't like about its operation is the way one turns the light on and off. I hardwired the light, so you must use the power button on the mirror. The first press turns the light on in bright white mode (my preference). To turn the light off, I must press the button three times to turn it off (cycling through the other modes). This is a minor issue but still inconvenient. The real issue is mounting. First, let me give you some details I wish I knew before purchase. The whole back of the mirror flat, no indentation and room for the power cord. The cord comes out the back of the mirror in the horizontal center about 10 inches from the bottom. The cord is about 9 inches long and about 18 gauge. There are four 1-inch mounting screws and drywall anchors (see pic) that are provided but, in my opinion, way too small for this ~40-pound mirror. For mounting, I installed a custom bracket using the top two mounting holes on the mirror then another receiving bracket on the wall mounted to the wall studs. This provides a sturdy mounting plus leaves the mirror away from the wall needed for the power cord. ... show more

    • Came cracked & Buttons are too hard to activate.

So when I received this it arrived cracked, it didn’t hurt the performance at all, just kinda upset about that. Second thing, the buttons to activate the light & anti fog are relatively hard to press, even though I’m pressing directly on them. There’s times where I’m just pressing the button 6 times just for it to turn on once. Set aside all that, it was easy to assemble, the lights are bright, and the anti fog works perfectly. Overall a decent product, I recommend you get stoppers or install the wire directly in the wall so you don’t have your mirror moving every time you press to activate it. ... show more
