To avoid overheating of the mirror due to long time use of defogging, defogging will automatically turn off after one hour of continuous use, then you need to click the defogging button to turn on the defogging function again.

I was a little hesitant to buy this mirror simply because I did see one or 2 reviews that said it was a huge pain to hang. After doing it though it wasn't really bad! I decided to hard wire my mirror in as I had an outlet behind my old mirror. Colors and wiring for an outlet are very easy (white to white, Black to Black, and green to green or bare copper for ground) I had the 40 x 24" mirror and the mount holes that I used were 39" from each other. I used the blue painters tape trick to stretch from hole to hole and poke a hole in the spot where the screws go into the back of the mirror. I then took that long piece of tape, used a level to get the tape level, and then used a small screw driver to mark those holes on the wall. I then used 2 metal screw in drywall anchors as the ones that come with the mirror are too flimsy in my opinion. The cord was long enough that I was able to wire up my mirror after turning the power off while having the mirror resting on the counter. I then lifted from the middle of the mirror, got the right side hooked and used that screw to hold the mirror and gently lift the left side up to find that hole. It took about a minute and I was able to get it to slid down and then check that it was level. Not too bad! If you can hang a picture and twist wires together After power is off you can do this!! Just be patient and have a friend there if you need them to hold the mirror while you wire it up. I also used a couple of clear, small, rubber bumpers that you can get in a pack of 60 from walmart or anywhere to space the mirror out to make it feel a bit more rigid so when you press the buttons it won't bang or scrape up the wall. The brightness was really good. I wish it was a tad brighter but generally it's not to replace your main light, just to give you a little help with your face area. So far I just installed it, I'll have to give it time to see how well it works or lasts but I so far love the quality! ... show more

    • Just use a basic switch not a dimmer switch

For those who experience flickering and/or humming sounds, for me it was due to the dimmer switch. I changed it to a regular on/off switch and everything started working fine. One problem is the mirror does not come with a blueprint, even though I was being careful with the measurement I still had to redo a couple of screws. ... show more

I can't express how sad and frustrated I'm. This mirror supposed to arrive Monday September 5th before 10pm, but didn't arrive until next day 10am. Thank God I was running late for work and I was there when the Ryder's truck(rental vehicle NOT Amazon company usual uses) parked in font of my house I saw how the delivery guys where literally walking on top of the boxes to get to the back of the truck were apparently my mirror was. Comment: In my head I was thinking if my mirror supposed to get here the night before and was one of the last packages to be delivered and one of the first for next morning... Why they didn't move it close to the door instead of leaving it at the very back and struggle,steeping,pulling,banging when in the box is literally written ❗️FRAGILE❗️ When they finally managed to get it at the door of the truck you could see that the box was in really bad condition and bending with Amazon tape in one side only? I told the guys that didn't look right the box was open, the mirror was literally falling out. He told me that if I have any issues I need to contact Amazon,he proceed to take the box and mirror that looked like a sandwich and place it at my porch, I go behind him I see inside the box and in fact the mirror was broken I walk back to them and inform them that the mirror is broken that if they can take it back and they say that they are no allowed to take back anything and that I need to contact Amazon because that was not their business and nothing they could do about it. My heart was as shattered as the glass and my soul crushed like the box. Amazon refunded me the money I paid for the mirror but now I can't order it again because when I placed the order the first time the mirror had a discount, now if I want to get the same mirror I have to pay +$80 😅 Called Amazon and they said that once the money is refunded as Amazon credit there is nothing they can do about it. P.S.❗️ Be careful this glass is not tempered and there was smal and very sharp pieces of glass from the corners all over my front porch, walk way and carpet that all fell out trying to get it inside❗️ ... show more

I purchased a 72x36 for our master bath remodel and a 48x36 for our guest bathroom and this review applies to both. I returned the first smaller one because the backside had a 18” crack due to damage in shipping, so I returned it and reordered and the second one worked fine. The 72” worked fine for two days and then had a mind if it’s own and started to cycle off and on, so I returned it. This mfg makes another model that is backlit and I made the mistake of ordering it as a replacement. So I returned it and ordered the correct model and it worked fine. The unit is about 1.5” deep behind the mirror, so I removed the sheet rock to recess it somewhat and added vinyl trim so it doesn’t show. The tricky part to the install is to get the four provided screws that the mirror hangs on in the exact location as there is little room for error. Since I removed the sheet rock I installed 2x4s in the wall where the screws would land. We didn’t add any additional lighting in the guest bathroom but did add recessed lighting over our shower and toilet as the mirror lighting provides somewhat dim lighting in other areas of the bathroom. ... show more
