  • Strongly recommend for serious hiking

  • You get what you pay for- when you live on your feet, what you put on the matters
Size: 13 Color: Brown
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose this boot because red wing is dropping the Vasque line of boots that I have worn for years- I had seen the Kenetrek brand in a hunting boot and then this hardscrabble hiking boot. They seemed to be pretty well built and now that I’m wearing them for the first day they’re awesome! I’m a 62 year old career safety guy 6 hours in to a ten hour day with 9500 steps so far! Like my old Vasque boots- Iput them on and went…. I think they’ll last also. ... show more

  • A Great Hunting Experience starts with Great Boots.
Size: 10 Wide Color: Brown
If you hunt or play hard, the most terrible mistake you will make is buying cheap boots. The old saying goes, you pay for what you get is very true with footwear. Both my son and I have sent the money for a great pair of Kenetreks and have loved them. My son almost wore a pair of boots out in a year trying to find his trophy bull elk. He did end his hunt with a beautiful Utah bull elk. He was at times in the boots 20 hours. A successful hunt or play time can only be as good as your feet. I hunted in my last year and had no sore spots or problems with the boots. I highly recommend you save your money and buy the best. I also like the attitude of the company and their employees when you call for advice. They are very concerned about you ability to play hard with their products. They gave me the best advice I have had in 20 years when I set down at their booth in Salt Lake City. I feet hurt so bad in my Red Wings that my small toenail would go dead and come off. That did not happen with these boots. They fit. I purchased the light weight boots and they are great at a little over 3 lbs. Thanks guys for the great advice. ... show more

  • Amazing!
Size: 9.5 Color: Brown
I have been eyeing these for a while but hesitated due to price. I had seen them first at a store where I tried them on and found them to be comfortable. These replaced a pair of Asolo boots which run around $250 to replace. I finally gave in and am really sorry that I waited so long. I find these to be amongst the most comfortable I have ever worn. I am still breaking them in but even the first day with these I was extremely impressed at the fit and comfort. The soles are thick so you may find that some think you seem much taller. They'll give you an extra inch just like an iPhone and if you are the type that needs an extra inch, they have it. I don't need an extra inch anywhere but I won't complain about having it either. I have not been on extreme terrain nor have I tested the waterproof aspect but I am confident in both. I did order the Kenetrek wax to treat them. I would definitely buy them again! ... show more

  • 2E's are Great Boots for Wide Feet!
My 2E's are Great boots for wide feet. My right foot is slightly wider than my left foot and I struggle with finding a boot wide enough to fit comfortably. I have to wear New Balance sneakers. I tried Vasque St. Elias, but they weren't wide enough. Thank Amazon for their Return Policy!. I moved up to these Kenetreks because my Elk Hunting buddy has wide feet and raved about his. He was spot on. They are a little stiff, but about a 5 mile hike got them loosened up real good. They are SO COMFORTABLE OUT OF THE BOX! And even better now. They will be going on the Wyoming Elk Hunt this year. Will Update this review then. Great boot So Far. If you have wide feet try these. The fit was spot on for me and I have trouble finding the right shoes. The arch support is the best I have found in a boot. UPDATE: Did some day thinking ( about 5 miles ) and these boots are so sure footed! The tread pattern is very sticky. Also the break in is minimal. They stay a little stiffer than what I accustomed but stay totally comfortable. NO BLISTERS! Awesome, Awesome so far. Will Update when I do an overnighter. ... show more

  • High quality, and narrow means narrow
Size: 12 Narrow Color: Brown
I have narrow feet, size 12 men’s, and have never owned a pair of hiking boots that actually fit well. I spent the money on these because I needed a very tight fitting heavy sole boot for hunting chukar on steep, rocky and muddy slopes. I ordered the narrow size and they ARE narrow. Very snug. I learned that I have some calcium bumps I didn’t know I had and it was very uncomfortable. But I could see the potential and bought a boot stretcher with various fittings and adjustments to enlarge certain areas for just such lumps. It’s taking a while but I’m getting them where I want. I’ve done probably 30-40 miles and they’re almost perfect now. My foot doesn’t slip at all making extreme hiking much safer and less painful. So, to summarize, these are really good quality and built for heavy use and to last. They will take some breaking in but they will serve well. The sole is a little high and I’m getting used to that as well. But at 61, I’m hoping these are the last hunting/hiking boots I’ll ever buy. Very waterproof, warm with a good pair of socks, and they look good. ... show more

  • break in takes time and miles
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Brown
2 1/2 years of intermittent wear and still happy. If these are bought, be ready to spend a while breaking them in. Heavy boots need months of use to mellow into your foot's shape. thin sox under heavy will help, once they are broken in, then you will understand what strong boots are worth.
