I got these Keen waterproof hiking boots specifically for work, and they've been a total game-changer. I’m on my feet all day in all kinds of weather, and these boots have held up incredibly well. The waterproofing is reliable, the traction is solid, and they’re true to size with no break-in needed. What really impressed me is the support — I have plantar fasciitis, and these boots provide the cushioning and arch support I need to stay comfortable all day. No more aching feet by the end of my shift! They’re sturdy but not too heavy, and the quality is excellent for the price.     • Great for hiking. Bad for farm chores.

Overall a great boot depending on your expectations. I bought these with farm chores in mind which did not work out so well. The ankle is too rigid and uncomfortable, even when tied loosely, so I tied them lower. Unfortunately, everything that could get snagged on the eyelet hooks, did, including the laces on my opposite boot, which essentially hobbled me and sent me to the ground on my face a couple of times. After getting caught up in chicken wire and then a hay net, I finally took a needle nose pliers and clamped the hooks down. Otherwise, these are perfect for trails and hiking so that is their new purpose. They are pretty comfortable considering how rigid they are (except for the ankle). I will say they are 100% waterproof which I LOVE. I've been on both water and mud with them and my feet stayed completely dry. Great for hiking. Bad for farming. ... show more

I read the other reviews that said to size up. I disagree. I ordered a 9.5 when I usually wear a 9 and while it still fits, it's too large and I'm certain a 9 would've been perfect. However, I was still able to wear the boots and used them for a 10-day trip to Peru hiking for up to five hours almost daily. They didn't give me blisters or make my feet sore. Stepping in puddles didn't make my feet wet. I was in all kinds of climates, from jungle heat to Andean cool and the boots didn't get too hot or too cold. I wore them with finely woven alpaca socks I bought and they were great. Of note, I use orthotics and it was easy to remove the meager Keen insoles to replace with my orthotics. ... show more

    • Could be a good hiking shoe but received the wrong size

I give it a 3 stars due to receiving the wrong shoe size in the box. The box said it was 8.5 but the shoe was actually an 8. Quite disappointed since I was looking forward to them. But I still tried them and definitely they are tight with thick socks on. Not sure if if a size up would have fit. Maybe it could have but I maybe have to go two sizes up. I have wide feet too. Fantastic boots for Mt. leconte via Alum Cave trail.Wore these for a 11 mile hike in the Great Smoky Mountains and they were perfect. True to size with a roomy toe box, no break-in needed, and super comfortable the whole way. Handled wet conditions like a champ; I even walked through puddles and stayed completely dry. I do not recommend buying these KEEN shoes if you do a lot of walking/hiking because they do not hold up. These started coming apart 5 months after I bought them. I also had another pair of KEEN boots that were designed for hiking and they were leather, and those started coming apart about 6 months after I bought them. Video honey slippery deck no I took it on the trail with slippery rocks, did not do well on wet wood plank but nothing does, Treads are great. Even though the shoe is made of soft material there is excellent lateral support due to the way the sole is at sides and because the for stays with the shoe. Nothing worse than a foot moving all over the place in the shoe. I was putting my foot in the pool just to check water resistance and it's been great. I have been using these for several days at first, they seemed as if they were pushing my ankles out words but then when I put them on more carefully they didn't do that. They are the best I've had for my trail running. I do not like the trail running sneakers they sell because the support is not there and when you're running through some tricky Trails it's too easy to roll an ankle. You need something with real support something that's going to deliver so that you can. The Teva ones that I tried on had a huge circumference; they could fit three feet in one shoe and therefore were very dangerous, so I returned them.
